Sic Bo Overview

Sic Bo is a three-dice game of chance originating in China. It is sometimes referred to as Dai Siu, Hi-Lo, or Tai Sai. Immensely popular in Asian casinos, Pragmatic Play has now brought it to a wider global audience.

You will see the dealer sitting next to the shaker with the dice inside and where you can select your wager below the table. To the top right is the lobby, where you will find the rules and other settings and controls to enhance the gaming experience.

How to Play Sic Bo

The game is a three-dice game and although the interface looks complicated, it is pretty easy to get to grips with if you are familiar with craps or roulette. The betting grid is a combination of the two and there are plenty of options when it comes to betting on the outcome.

Placing a Bet

During the betting period between spins, you get to place your wager. Click the chips you want to use on the interface at the bottom and decide on the size of the wager. Place your chips on the grid above, bearing in mind that you can place as many as you want. Hedging is part of the game strategy. You can decide on the outcome of one, two, or all three dice.

Special Features

The game cannot be described as offering any special features, although there are other versions of the game from Pragmatic Play that offer multipliers.

Betting Options

Big and small bets are the most basic bets, and you will see them in the top left-hand and right-hand corners of the bet table. The small bet involves any dice sum of between four and ten. Big bets are sums of 11 to 17. These bets pay even money and are similar to outside bets on roulette.

Specific Dice Sum

If you want to bet on a specific total outcome, you can. You can choose between 4 and 17; naturally, there are different ways of achieving this target. Interestingly, there are only four ways of rolling both the 4 and the 17, so these are the best payers at 60:1.

Single Dice Bets

At the bottom of the bet board, you will see single dice ranging from one to six. You can wager that a single number appears on one, two, or all three dice. The odds vary depending on whether you are gambling on one, two, or all three dice and predicting they will all land with the same number or just one or two.

Double and Triple Bets

You can place bets that two or three dice land with the same number. You will see these bets in the top right-hand and left-hand corners of the board and the odds are impressive, although the reason for this is the likelihood of the same number appearing on two or three of the dice.

Two Dice Combinations

On the table layout, you will see dice laid out in a domino-style combination. These are for the bets, known as two dice or domino bets. These bets are a prediction of the numbers that just two of the dice will carry rather than all three or the total sum that appears on all the dice.

Payouts

Once you have placed your bet or bets, the dealer will shake the dice in the tumbler and you will win, once the dice have landed, on each outcome you have correctly predicted.

If you have made more than one bet, you may win on some and lose on others depending on how the dice land. By using the betting options strategically, you can adjust your opportunities.

Let’s look at the odds on the various bets:

  • Small or big bet = 1:1
  • Sum of 4 or 17 = 60:1
  • Sum of 5 or 16 = 30:1
  • Sum of 6 or 15 = 17:1
  • Sum of 7 or 14 = 12:1
  • Sum of 8 or 13 = 8:1
  • Sum of 9 or 12 = 6:1
  • Sum of 10 or 11 = 6:1
  • Single dice bet = 1:1, 2:1, 3:1
  • Double bet = 10:1
  • Any triple bet = 30:1
  • Specific triple bet = 180:1
  • Two dice combo = 5:1

Game Controls

The game looks complicated, as we said above; however, if you take the time to read our review and take a closer look at the betting options, you will find it straightforward - especially if you are familiar with roulette and craps.

You can choose your bets on the board below the main image; below this, your chip option is clearly displayed. Look to the top right-hand corner of the screen to locate the lobby and the rules of the game. You can also adjust video options and settings on the menu here and adjust the volume control.
