Money Train 3 is an upcoming online slot from Relax Gaming set to be released on September 22nd, 2022. Features include respins and a hold & spin bonus with plenty of modifiers. The RTP of this highly volatile slot is 96.1% and its top prize is worth 100,000x.
Theme and Graphics
Whereas Money Train 1 was set in the wild west and Money Train 2 had more of a steampunk look to it, the latest instalment in the series has a much, much more futuristic aesthetic. Rather than being set in a ghost town, Money Train 3 appears to take place in the same kind of future as West World.
Overall, Money Train 3 does a fantastic job of reinventing the theme of the original two games without straying too far from the aesthetics that players have come to enjoy. So, if you liked Money Trains 1 and 2, you’re certainly in for a treat.
Money Train 3 Slot RTP and Variance
The Money Train 3 RTP is 96.1%, which is slightly lower than Money Train (96.2%) and Money Train 2 (96.4%). The game has a top prize of 100,000x (double that of the two previous games), so it is understandable that it is a highly volatile slot.
How to Win
There are 40 paylines in Relax Gaming’s Money Train slot. To create wins, you have to land three or more matching symbols on any of the lines, from the leftmost reel. As always, the most generous symbols in the game are the human characters – with the sheriff awarding the largest payout – 20x for a five-of-a-kind combination.
Money Train 3 Bonus
Unlike Money Train 2, the respins bonus is triggered randomly – rather than requiring two scatters to land. One of the symbols that is on the reels at the time will be frozen and the rest of the reels will spin with a prize awarded for each additional symbol of that type that lands. You can also trigger 1x, 2x or 3x multipliers during this round.
Money Cart Bonus
When you land three bonus symbols, you’ll trigger the Money Cart round. You’ll have encountered this in both Money Train 1 and 2, as well as other top Relax Gaming slots like Chip Spin.
You begin the round with 3 spins and, whenever a new symbol lands, the counter resets to 3. The round ends when you run out of space on the reels or the counter reaches 0. You can also get additional spaces for symbols when you fill a full reel with bonus symbols.
The symbols that can land during the bonus will either have a value of between 1x and 10x your bet, and there are several modifiers that you can trigger:
- Collector: The values of all symbols are collected and added to his total
- Sniper: Doubles the value of up to 8 symbols
- Collector-Payer: Adds the value of between 3 and 5 symbols to itself and then adds that total to all other symbols
- Necromancer: Any non-persistent symbols can be revived and used again
- Absorber: Any regular bonus symbols are removed.
- Tommy Gun Sniper: Selects one symbol and doubles its value up to 6 times
- Tommy Gun Payer: Displays a value of 5x to 100x, and adds it to a symbol up to 10 symbols
Then, you have persistent versions of the Collector, Sniper, Collector-Payer and Necromancer. These all perform the same action – but they do so on every spin.
Money Train 3 Slot Review - Our Verdict
Money Train 3 really is a fantastic addition to the series. While the gameplay remains quite similar to the first two games, there are some fantastic little tweaks that make the game stand out from the previous iterations.
Random Respins and New Modifiers
The ability to trigger respins randomly (rather than by landing two scatters) is a big plus. We also enjoyed the new Tommy Gun Sniper and Tommy Gun Payer symbols, as they provide you with the ability to rack up some impressive payouts. Along with the new Shapeshifter modifier, they mix things up a little bit so that the Hold & Spin bonus doesn't get too stale after three Money Train slot releases.
Money Train 3 gives us up that slot sequels can continue to be fun and exciting, rather than boring games that repeat the same gameplay over and over. We're super excited for future Money Train releases, and can see this series going on for quite some time.
