History

The casino’s name aims to reflect the history of the small Nebraskan community it forms part of. Emerson nestles in Northeast Nebraska’s rolling hills and was formed in 1881 as a railway junction. It sits on the border of the Winnebago Indian Reservation. Today, the Iron House Casino aims to provide a meeting place where friends old and new can have a drink, enjoy a meal, and play casino gaming machines.

The Iron Horse is located in Main Street Emerson and Emerson itself offers a good base from which to explore the wider Nebraska area. Travel a relatively short distance and you can visit the likes of the Moylan Iceplex in Omaha with the state’s only Olympic-sized rink, and Omaha’s Lauritzen Gardens, where you can enjoy summer at any time of the year thanks to its 10,000 square foot tropical house.

Fancy some skiing? Visit Omaha’s Elmwood Park, which is billed as one of the city’s best cross-country trails. Emerson itself has a beautiful City Park, public library, and an American Legion post. It has an RV park with sewer, water, and electric hook ups. This is situated beside the local swimming pool at Logan and 5th Streets.
