Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The legend of bloodsucking undead humans may originate in ancient Egypt, but they’ve transmuted into mysterious and sexy creatures who promise a life of immortal pleasure. 

First portrayed by Bela Lugosi in Dracula, the modern Count is a charming and deadly creature. And he’s obviously the inspiration for Shock’s Count with his devilish goatee and sharpened fangs. We also meet the Countess, resplendent in red, and some other ghoulish trappings of their lifestyle including a diamond encrusted skull and golden chalice - presumably for drinking...blood.

It’s all quite camp rather than terrifying, and the promise of the organ fanfare never translates into a full-on Hammer style soundtrack. All in all, despite being trailed as a horror game, Vampires Gone Wild doesn’t live up to its billing.
