Presentation

As already mentioned, Fancy Fruits is old-school, but in the best possible way. Taking inspiration from classic bar and pub slots, this game does away with unnecessary adornments and confusing special features; instead, it strips things back to basics. This is complemented by the similarly retro - but clean - presentation and selection of prize symbols, such as cherries, lemons and watermelons.

Layout and functions

As with most modern slots, this game comprises five reels with three rows each, laid out in the very familiar five x three configuration. There are five paylines in total, although these are fixed and always in play; in addition, there is a variable coin value with 11 increments. There is a very wide range of prizes to be won, awarded to lucky players who manage to find instances of two-, three-, four- and five-of-a-kind adjacent matching symbols, oriented from left to right on a payline. There are also two special features that can be selected upon any successful spin: a playing card-based gambling round and a ladder-based random jackpot game.

Gamble mode

This first of the special features is the gambling mode. This can be selected immediately after any successful spin and takes players to a separate game screen where they will wager their most recent winnings on a guess. Players must decide whether the face-down playing card is red or black, with a correct guess doubling the current winnings. For those who are slightly more cautious, there is also the option to gamble half or less.

Ladder jackpot

This second special feature is the ladder jackpot, which is also selected after a successful spin. Players are again taken to another screen, this time with a ladder of prize values increasing in size. The player then has to select a prize range and click the button at the right time.

Prize table

Given the classic theme, the seven (7) is unsurprisingly the most valuable symbol in this game, awarding very generous prizes for finding five whilst playing with the maximum bet value. Next up are the grape and watermelon symbols, which both award the same range of prizes. After this come the plum and orange, finally followed by the lemon and the cherry - the least valuable symbols in the game.
