Blast Off into Space

When you first open the game you will notice the five planets - red, yellow, green, blue and purple - are lined up along the left-hand side of the screen. This is provided as a helpful reminder that the planets are the big wins here. There is also a host of humanoid aliens in matching colours, but those sharp-eyed viewers among you will notice straight away that they have a number or letter in the corner. That is because in this game the aliens are the low-paying playing card symbols. They are cute to look at, but they won’t make you rich.

To land some serious money, players will need to match five in a row of any of the coloured planets. The red planet is the biggest payer and the purple planet the least valuable. However, the blue planet with WILD written across the face is obviously the wild. This planet can substitute for every other symbol in the game, from the aliens to the planets. Amazingly, it can also substitute for the high-win scatter symbols. When you make a win with a wild, the other symbols light up.

Scatter Mode Activated

The supernova scatters features free spins rebranded as reel respins. The only difference is that players get just the one free spin, but these can be added up. To get this supernova feature, players need to form a winning combination of scatters, which will then trigger the reel respin. If you keep landing the next scatter, the reels will keep spinning. The free spin is also automatic, so most of the time you won’t even realise there was a scatter on your reels until the board spins again.

Giant Planet Feature

Stars Awakening by Playtech is a cascading reels game where the symbols drop and bounce into the playing area. Maybe because there are no real reels to watch, the giant planet feature works really well. In this bonus, a planet of any colour can drop down and is large enough to occupy nine entire symbol spaces. So any combinations you make with this planet are already going to be higher than three.

With its impressive graphics, exciting but soothing soundtrack and easy to listen to sound effects, Stars Awakening is a very pleasant video slots game.
