Theme, graphics & soundtrack 

The reels sit on a wooden table in a restaurant or bar, where an ice machine with a winding handle stands in the corner. It sways back and forth with a peculiar sound effect that slowly moves out of sync with the animation. Pendant ceiling lights swing gently above. When you touch the spin button, there is the sound of an ice cube falling into a glass and a cloud of frosty air puffs out from the button, both of which are great details. 

The reels are made from blue ice cubes and are covered with roughly painted versions of the classic fruit machine symbols. These include oranges, melons, strawberries, cherries, plums and grapes. The triple bar symbol, two different types of 7, stars and bells make up the rest of the classic set. The wild is a simple ice cube. When a winning combination is landed, ice cubes are generated from the winning symbols. These are then crushed into a colored slushie in the ice machine, the color matching the winning symbol. The reels spin in a cascade of ice for the respin.

How to play Icy Bar

1. Once the game has loaded, you will see a splash screen with alternating windows showing an overview of the game's features. Tap anywhere to continue. 
2. Before you start, touch the menu button. This is where you will find settings for the sound, reel speed, autoplay win and loss limits, and various other options. You can also find the information icon in the menu, which will provide everything you need to know about the paytable, paylines and features of the game.
3. Once you have made your adjustments, exit the menu and adjust your bet size. There are two ways to do this: you can either touch the coins button to select your bet size or use the + and - buttons to either side of the total bet window. The paylines are fixed, so the total bet amount represents the bet per spin.
4. The button with the lightning bolt toggles turbo spin on and off. It has a light circling it when switched on. 
5. If you are going to use autoplay, touch the autoplay button to set the automatic spins from anywhere between 100 and infinity. Other autoplay settings are not available on this page; to set these limits, use the menu button. Note that autoplay starts as soon as you select the number of automatic spins, so make sure you have set your limits beforehand. When using autoplay, please keep an eye on your balance and be ready to stop before you need to.
6. You are now all set to spin the reels. Always play responsibly and never chase losses.

Bet sizes & paytable wins 

Bets sizes range between 0.02 credits per line to 20 credits per line. All bets are on 40 fixed lines, so range between 0.8 and 800 credits per spin. 

All symbols pay out except for the wild. The highest paytable win is the bar symbol, which pays 800x, 240x and 40x a single line bet for five, four and three of a kind respectively. The lowest paying symbols - oranges, strawberries and cherries - will pay out 40x, 16x and 4x.

Icy Bar review: our verdict

Dragoon Soft has combined the traditional with the modern in Icy Bar, but the result has been somewhat mixed. On the one hand, it is great to see the traditional fruits, bars and 7s on the reels and the stacked formations of many of the symbols have the potential for setting up some significant wins; however, the graphics and sound are not up to par and the single respin feature isn't enough to retain interest, which makes for a disappointing experience overall.
