Introduction

Released in December 2020, Magic 10 is one of a series of games by Realistic that are based on Electrocoin's land-based Bar-X arcade machines. Graphics, Sound & Theme

Realistic have lived up to their name in creating this online slot. As soon as the game loads, you're treated to a short animation introducing you to the arcade machine in 3D. How to Play Magic 10

1. Once the game loads, you'll see a splash screen. Press the play button to enter the game.

2. Customise the game using the menu button on the bottom right of the screen. This gives you access to information about the game, rules, paytable and tools to adjust your bet and auto-play options.

3. If you want to use Autoplay, first choose the number of Autoplay games, which range from 10 to 100. Then, set your maximum loss and win limits. The Autoplay function will stop if these limits are exceeded. You can also navigate to the Autoplay settings directly via the round Autoplay button.

Magic 10 Bonus Features

Just like the land-based Magic 10 game that inspired it, Magic 10 has three features: Hold, Nudge and Free Spins.

Hold

Hold may be offered on a random basis when:

 - A pair of the same symbol appears, allowing you to hold the pair and let the unheld reel spin on the next game. If a hold pair results in a win, you may be awarded an additional hold on the win.
 - You have a winning game. A hold may be awarded up to two times after a win, for a maximum of 3 consecutive wins.

Nudge

Three Nudges may be offered on a random basis after any losing game. Press the Nudge/Hold button to nudge reels into the best winning position, or press the Tick button to let the game find the best nudges for you. In Autoplay, all nudges are made automatically.

When a win comes in, there's a random chance you'll be awarded either two or nine additional free spins. Each free spin repeats the same win. Our Magic 10 Review

Realistic have worked hard to recreate one of Electrocoin's classics, and we're impressed with how close it felt to playing the real thing. Not only can you view the gameplay in two modes, but if you're using a touchscreen, you can view the action from any angle. When you're awarded nudges, you can peer through the virtual glass at the reels looking for those half-hidden symbols to make sure you get the right nudge combination. The only effect missing was background sound. The high volatility means there are long waits between any wins, so we were lucky to get three Bars, followed by three Holds for a double win during the first 50 spins.

If Retro is your thing and you want more slot nostalgia, Betsoft's Magic Lines slot, a fruit themed slot, is a good one to try. The volatility is a little more forgiving than Magic 10 and it recreates classic bonus features displayed on the machine's top panel.
