In this 10 payline slot, winning combinations are made by landing three or more matching symbols on any line. The most generous symbol in the game is the scroll, which pays out 1000x. There are two types of wilds in the game – and each one comes in from either the left side or the right side of the screen.

Walking Wilds and Respins

The main bonus features in James Gold and the Mummy Riches are the walking wilds and the respins. There are two types of wilds that appear on the reels – the mummy and James Gold. The mummy enters from the left side of the screen while James Gold enters from the right.

Each of these characters will move one position in the opposite direction, awarding a respin for every position that they move until they exit on the other side. If you land both of these symbols on the reels at the same time, when they appear on the reels, they will create two stacked wilds which will continue walking to either end of the screen.

This is a bonus feature that you really don’t see all that often in online slots. In fact, we’ve only ever encountered it in Santa Vs Rudolph and The Invisible Man so, it’s nice to see more games using this type of bonus. However, in those other slots, the symbols landing on the same reel leads to free spins while in James Gold and the Mummy Riches you only get stacked wilds.

James Gold and the Mummy Riches Review

James Gold and the Mummy Riches is a fairly straight-forward online slot that will appeal more to classic slot players. The game features a common theme but the graphics and bold so it does stand out among other Ancient Egyptian-themed games.

Walking wilds can be found in slots like Jammin Jars and Jack and the Beanstalk, but it’s rare that the  collision of walking wilds leads to more features. As we mentioned before, it’s only in games like The Invisible Man (and its Christmas clone Santa Vs Rudolph) that walking wilds combine; however, since it leads to free spins in these other slots, it does feel like a little something in missing in James Gold and the Mummy Riches.

Still, you’ll trigger walking wilds often enough that you’ll benefit from the respins. So, it’s not a huge concern that there isn’t a free spins round in this game.
