Wilds Go Walkabout

In this Elk game, two scatter symbols will trigger the wild response feature. The scatters turn into wilds, and the reel that contains the wilds moves down one notch every time you re-spin. Lakes Five has walking wilds, sticky wilds and climbing wilds. Three scatter symbols turn into keys and start “The Heist” bonus game with ten free spins. Every added key when the bonus gaming is running gives you an extra free spin.

Once you’ve got three keys on reels 1, 3 and 5, the climbing, walking and sticky wilds get unlocked. The climbing wild moves up one row every time you spin. The walking wild moves one reel to the right every time you spin. The sticky wild does what you’d expect - it sticks around for the rest of the spins. The game has two modes: normal and bonus mode. You can only trigger re-spins when you’re in normal mode.

The re-spins end when there’s only one wild left or when scatter number three appears. Betting Strategies

In Lakes Five, there are 178 winning lines across the four rows and five reels. There are 12 bet levels, and each bet is equivalent to 100 coins. Bets are paid from left to right, and only the highest paying win line pays out. This slot has an interesting set of betting strategies you can use. These allow you to select the way you want to bet by choosing one of four styles.

• The “Optimiser” bets a percentage of however many credits you have left. This means the amount you are betting adjusts itself to your remaining balance.
• The “Leveller” raises your bet by two levels if you lose five times in succession. In other words, you can bet more if you haven’t won for a while. If you lose five more times, the bet will be raised by two levels again. This feature resets when you win.
• The “Booster” is a variant of the Leveller. It raises your bet by one level when you lose. When you get to four levels above your original bet, it stops. It too resets after a win.
• The “Jumper” raises your bet by one level after every winning round until you get to four levels above your original bet, and it too resets after a loss.

To use the betting strategies, you’ll need to choose your base level bet, then choose your strategy, then press Spin. However, bear in mind that the strategies can’t change the long-term Return to Player (RTP), which is 96.3%, as is the case with all Elk games.
