Look and feel
Panda Pow by Lightning Box borrows heavily from Chinese imagery, with a deep red background edged with bamboo shoots and Chinese-style special symbols including fans, golden carp, paper lanterns, Chinese coins and two different pandas - a baby panda and a karate panda. The graphics are very appealing, with high-resolution reel graphics and effects; however, Panda Pow has not gone overboard and remains very clean and accessible.
Gameplay basics
Panda Pow is a video slot machine that uses five reels sporting the standard A-9 symbols and the fan, carp, lantern, coin, and two panda special symbols. It is playable with between one and 25 paylines, controllable by the player. Bets range from 0.25 credits to 1,000 credits, with a very appealing 95.1 per cent return. The maximum payout is 500x your bet, which may seem low; however, Panda Pow more than makes up for this through frequent smaller wins and plentiful free spins.

Outside the basics is where Panda Pow begins to shine. First, the lower value special symbols - the lantern, coins and fans - each pay out 100x your bet for a set of three. The carp, on the other hand, awards up to 200x, making all the special symbols quite lucrative. The baby panda symbol pays out no matter how many show up, with the payout based on the number you get on an in-play payline. One baby panda gives you two x your bet, two give five x, three give 50x, four 125x, and five baby pandas award the biggest payout at 500x your bet.
The karate panda, on the other hand, is both the wild and scatter symbol. When he shows up, he turns every symbol on the reel - except the golden bonus panda - into a duplicate of himself, making a lot of potential wins. He does not pay out on his own; instead, he gives free bonus spins. Five karate pandas award five free spins, increasing up to nine karate pandas giving 20 bonus spins. During the bonus spins, a golden panda also shows up.
The golden panda acts as a wildcard, replacing other symbols - except the karate panda - with himself and giving you a chance of special cash prizes in addition to the normal payouts.
