When it comes to payout percentages, ELK Studios is normally a studio that we’re impressed with – but Tropicool’s RTP is a little bit disappointing. Ringing in at 95%, this is a lot lower than we tend to see from other ELK slot games, as they usually have 96% and above.

In terms of volatility, though, things look a lot better. The game has medium variance which we don’t tend to see all that often nowadays, especially when large payouts are on offer. Tropicool provides a top prize of 10,000x – which Is much higher than you normally see from games with this volatility level.

How to Win

There are 46,656 winning ways available in Tropicool, due to the slots being laid out on a 6x7 grid. So, you hit wins by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels.

When you hit a win, the symbols involved disappear. New ones fall into their places to help you bag more wins in a row.

Feature Reel

Above the main game, there is a Feature Reel. When a cascade occurs, symbols from this reel also fall on to the base game. They can trigger the following:

Tropicool Slot Review

While everything is still a bit out there, it’s nice to see something a little more scaled back from ELK. Games like Nitropolis and Cluster Slide might be considered a little bit too much, so Tropicool offers a little more straight-forward experience and theme but without being boring.

The only thing that lets the game down is its RTP. 95% is much lower than we’re used to seeing in new slot releases, even if Nitropolis 2 had a similar payout percentage. ELK Studio slots tend to fall on the higher end of 96%, so we’re a bit surprised.
