When open, LJ’s Casino and truck stop has a buffet restaurant, although some of these venues have been affected by Covid, and so it is best to check what’s on offer before you make the stop if food is a priority. There is a Walmart nearby, however, along with a range of eateries in the local area. Within around three miles, there is Roxy’s Diner serving traditional American food at the Paragon Casino, Big daddy E’s for Cajun and Creole food in Marksville, Kyrle’s Seafood and Steak House in Mansura, Los Amigos Mexican eatery in Marksville, Legends Steakhouse in Marksville, Op-Ops Cajun Cabin in Mansura and fast food at the T-Not Stop gas station and truck stop at 8016 Hwy 1.

Local Area

Mansura is a small town in the Avoyelles Parish which is home to the Cochon de Lait Festival. The town claims that it is the world’s Cochon de Lait capital. If you’ve never tried this Louisianan delicacy, it is a suckling pig that is marinated, pit-roasted and then thinly sliced. It is typically served with gravy. Mansura is also home to the Louisiana 4-H Museum and Hall of Fame.
