Graphics and Theme

Congo Cash is set deep within the African jungle, and while - we feel - Pragmatic Play could have done more with the background imagery, the game’s overall visuals and animations look pretty good. The main character of the game is the Gorilla - the higher-paying symbol - and he’s also seen to the left-hand-side of the reels, dominating the space above the three in-game jackpots.

In recent releases, we’ve seen Pragmatic Play really ramping things up when it comes to volatility and variance. This was furthered, to some degree, but the influx of Megaways slots that we saw the software provider release - and it’s clear that the game developer’s target audience clearly like these high variance slots.

Congo Cash, however, is a little different - and we actually feel as though it fits into the more medium variance side of things, despite carrying a few jackpots and a relatively respectable maximum win of 5,500X your stake. The reason we believe the game is medium in variance is due to the fact that hits during the base-game are quite common - and, from our experience, the bonus round appears to trigger quite frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long in order to begin seeing the game’s action!

Now, when it comes to Congo Cash’s RTP, we were also happily surprised; Pragmatic Play ships the game with a default RTP of 96.51%, which is above average in today’s iGaming industry.

Bonus Features

There’s a lot going on within Congo Cash, although it may not seem like it at first; this is because all of the game’s bonuses and features are triggered/activated through one bonus, the Jewel Board feature, details of which we’ll cover below.

Jewel Board Feature

When you look at the unique layout of Congo Cash, you’ll see that at the top of reels 2, 3 and 4 there are three positions - each displaying a certain prize. On every spin during the base-game, each of these positions will display three potential prizes, and these include:

• Cash prizes, worth between 5X and 100X your total stake
• A number of free spins, ranging between 8 and 100
• The Minor Jackpot, worth 25X your stake
• The Major Jackpot, worth 100X your stake
• The Grand Jackpot, worth 2,000X your stake

Now, in order to win one of these prizes, you need to land two of the Butterfly symbols on reels one and five, as well as the Congo Cash symbol on reels 2, 3 or 4. You will then be awarded the prize above the Congo Cash symbol - and it’s possible to land between one and three of the prizes on a single spin.

Pragmatic Play have been on somewhat of a roll for the past few years, and they’ve released hit after hit, quickly rising to become one of the market leaders in the iGaming industry. For example, games such as Madame Destiny and Peking Luck showed that their slots are capable of paying massive amounts of money - and while Congo Cash may not be able to match these titles in terms of the max win (the total amount you can win from a single spin is 5,500X your stake), it’s a really decent effort from the software provider.

We also really like the fact that there’s two bonuses - and probably our only complaint of the slot is the fact that the free-spins bonus can only be triggered through the Jewel Board feature. We’d like if it were possible to trigger the free-spins bonus round on its own, but it’s not the end of the world, and certainly doesn’t take away from the overall playing experience.
