Little Italy takes a somewhat different approach to the idea of travel themed slots. Rather than focusing on sprawling coastlines or grandiose architecture, it conveys players into the heart of the Italian home: the kitchen! This is a cozy and feel-good slot, but it's not one to play if you’re feeling hungry. Some of the food looks good enough to eat, and it’s certainly capable of getting your stomach rumbling.

The oranges, pasta and crepes look delicious, but the theme excels in other areas, too. We loved the homely, slightly rustic vibe of the background, which shows a kitchen wall complete with garlic. The reels hang as though supported by timber, and there are minute details everywhere. Even the lowest-value symbols get little touches, like the olives hanging from the J or the chilis next to A.

Sounds aren’t enabled as default, but you can turn them on. The soundtrack is slightly disappointing. Although the music is charming, high-quality and distinctly Italian, it plays on an extremely short loop. This means it quickly becomes repetitive, which is a real shame.

Concluding thoughts

Little Italy is a cozy slot that feels as though it was developed with genuine warmth. We loved the rustic kitchen setting, and some of the symbols look good enough to eat. 

Free spins are a particular highlight, not least because they’re so unique. Starting with an unlimited number and then only losing spins when a wild is added ensures tension. We were never quite sure what we wanted - more wilds or to keep our spin total intact.

Little Italy’s soundtrack had the potential to be great, but unfortunately its loop is so short that it quickly becomes repetitive. The fact that this is the only flaw we could identify is a testament to how well Belatra has done with the rest of the design, and we recommend this game to food lovers and travel fans alike.
