Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The background is a dark night sky next to a lake with a tree and some glowing lanterns. This is about as far as the narrative goes. There are two sisters who are adorned with flowers and fans that are part of the game’s line-up of icons.

Aside from the sisters, the other icons are a butterfly, some pink blossom and some wild goldfish. As with many Booongo titles, the graphics are nice enough but have no real link to the game or its features.

The music is a gentle Oriental loop, suitable for late-night gaming. Of course, it does get slightly more excitable if the wins start rolling in, but nothing that’s going to blow your socks off. You won’t spill your hot chocolate over your laptop in shock is all we’re saying.

How to Play Moon Sisters

1. Use the small i button in the top right corner of the screen to view the win amounts for each combination. You don’t need to, though: it’s also on the left-hand side of the screen.

2. To play in autoplay mode, use the settings icon under the main green SPIN button on the right side of the screen.

3. To change your bet amount, use the plus and minus symbols either side of Bet in the bottom right of the screen. Or you can use the stacked coins symbol in the far right to select an amount between 0.25 and 60.

4. To start play, click the large SPIN button in the bottom right of the screen.

Along the bottom of the screen, you can view your Balance and Last Win amounts. To toggle sound on and off, use the speaker icon on the right side of the screen.

Bonus Game Jackpot

The way to win this game’s x1000 jackpot is to collect 15 Bonus Symbols in the Bonus Game. To trigger this game you need to find six or more Bonus Symbols on the reels. These are Moon Symbols, and they’ll stick the reels for the duration of the Bonus Game.

Your possible wins in the Bonus Game are x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x10, x14, x16, x18, x20 or x25 your total bet. At the start of the Bonus Game you will have three respins, and for each new Moon Symbol that appears on the reels, the number or respins will be reset to three.

The game will continue until you’re out of respins or you manage to collect all 15 Moon Symbols. Once the Bonus Game has ended, the value of the Moon Symbols will be added together to calculate your Bonus Win.

Wild Goldfish

The Goldfish Symbol is this game’s Wild Symbol, and it will substitute for all of the other symbols in the game apart from the Bonus Symbol.

Our Verdict

Other Booongo titles have seemed very lazy - recycling ideas or sticking to a featureless fruit machine gameplay that seemed at odds with the rest of the markets. This title is by no means perfectly executed, but thankfully there is a multifaceted Bonus Game and a Wild, helping this fantasy themed slot to rise above Booongo’s usual output.

It should be noted that the Jackpot amounts displayed across the top of the screen do not correspond with the amounts listed in the paytable and rules. We have chosen to be cynical and report the lower amounts listed in the rules, but if you do get the higher amounts, that’s great!

It does appear that there’s only real value in playing the Bonus Game. Even though most of the combination payouts are higher than one, with an RTP of 95% it’s clear to see where the action is.
