Wild Empire is a Design Works online slot. It is a fairly basic-looking but easy to play game which will not set the gaming world on fire but does offer enough wins along the way to keep most players interested. The added feature during free spins means that decent wins are possible.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack 

Wild Empire is an Asian inspired slot, but aside from a Far Eastern style roof above the reels, you would not really know it. It is certainly not as in your face as other Chinese themed games, and you will not find any lucky cats, dragons or fortune cookies here.

The graphics are basic and understated and do not distract from the playing experience, but do not expect any whistles and bells with Wild Empire.
The soundtrack is harmless enough and does not grate too much, and the clunking sound of the bonus symbols landing is rather satisfying. (Obviously more so when three or more land and trigger the free spins!)

The music turns distinctly more Oriental once in the free spins feature, and this provides a welcome change and adds to the excitement.

How to Play Wild Empire

1. Choose your total bet stake. The displayed maximum payout, which shows above the reels, will change in line with your selection to 2500x your stake.
2. Decide whether you want to autoplay. Be aware, though, that you cannot choose to stop if the free spins are awarded, so if you want to watch the feature (and it is worth watching!), don’t stray too far.
3. Opt to have the sound on and wait for the clunks as the bonuses land!
4. There is no turbo play option, but you can stop the reels early by pressing the green arrow(spin) button.

Wild Empire Free Spins 

Although the symbol pays are above average due to the 96.23% RTP, the free spins are where things get a bit more interesting. Your persistence could well pay off if you are lucky enough to land three or more bonus symbols. 

Bonus symbols feature on every reel, and you need a minimum of three bonus symbols to trigger the free spins feature. Three bonus symbols award seven free games, four bonus symbols award 12 free games and five bonus symbols award 20 free games. There is no return for triggering free spins.

Although the bonus symbol still appears in the free games, the free spins cannot be retriggered. However, the bonus symbol in a free game does something perhaps even more exciting. If a bonus symbol lands on any reel during a free spin, that entire reel will turn wild. Bonus symbols can land on any of the five reels during every spin, so adjacent wild reels are possible. This added layer of excitement is probably the reason you will want to keep playing this game. 

Wild Empire, unlike lots of other Asian inspired slots, does not have any other bonus rounds, so play could get a little uninspiring and tedious after a while. 

Overall Wild Empire Review 

All in all, Wild Empire is a basic game that does not break any new slots ground, but the higher-paying symbols and additional free spins feature might make it a game you keep coming back to. If you prefer richer graphics and more theme-specific detailing, then this game might not hold your attention for very long. It is, however, easy to play (especially on autoplay), and the RTP above 96% gives some decent returns.
