Energoonz is one of the innovative and entertaining free online slots games from developers Play’n GO. The name is a combination of “energy” and “goons”, which are cute little animated alien creatures who are out to help you win prizes! The goons do look a little bit like Pokemon, and like Pokemon, you can play this game when you are out and about because it is available on your mobile and tablet in addition to your desktop.

Power Play

Unlike most slots games, Energoonz doesn’t have reels and paylines. Instead, you play on a five by five grid. When you press Start, the symbols fall into place. The goal is to have three or more matching symbols in a row, either horizontally or vertically. When that happens, you win a prize! Then, the winning symbols will disappear, and the symbols around them will fall down to take their places, often combining in new groups of three or more.

Creature Comforts

One of the most appealing things about this game is the way it looks. The crisp, high-definition graphics are bold and colourful, and the animation isn’t confined to the winning rows. You decide how much you want to bet each spin, and away you go! The lower-paying symbols are flames (either single or in pairs), lightning bolts (also single or paired) and atoms - the energy symbols. These will line up and pay out quite frequently, earning you some nice prizes as they do. The flames and the lightning bolts are the lowest-paying symbol of all but also the most numerous. If combined single and double flames or lightning make up your group of three or more, the prize is quite small; you get more for identical rows and columns of flame or lightning. Alien Nation

It’s the Goons that you want to watch out for, however, partly because they will earn you bigger prizes and partly because they are just so cute! There are three types of goon in the basic game: a green one with three eyes on stalks, an orange one with a big smile, and a black one with blue markings that looks a little bit like a dragon. They’re all animated, so they look around, smile and wink at you as you play. Line them up, and they’ll win you prizes.

Wild Energy

The glowing plasma ball is the Wild symbol in this game. It can substitute for any of the basic symbols, and it doesn’t disappear after a win, so it can form part of another group of three in the same spin.

Bonus Power

As symbols disappear, they sometimes reveal letters. If the word Bonus appears - for example, after you’ve cleared five symbols vertically - you’ll find yourself in the Bonus round with free spins and more cute animated Goons. The new Goons appear to be sleeping, but if three or more appear horizontally or vertically, the energy machine to the right will zap them awake before awarding you your prize!
