Go back to the classic fairgrounds and piers of your childhood with this retro joker slot from the developers at Yggdrasil. With a maximum RTP of 98 per cent and a potential payout of 6...,000 coins, this might be a retro game but it is anything but old and stale; in fact, its fun graphics, innovative Jokerizer bonus mode and exciting mystery wins make it an engaging play every time.

Introduction to Jokerizer

On first impressions, this may look like just another old-style fruit slot machine, but it is anything but. Yggdrasil slots are known for being fairly innovative and this one does not disappoint. It has taken a beloved, traditional theme and given it a new lease of life with this game. What could be tired and boring feels fun and exciting thanks to the creative use of bonus features and mystery prizes.

While there are no free spins or wilds in this game, the other bonus features and the sheer range of options, which make for a really good player experience, more than make up for this. With the chance to win up to 6,000 coins in one go, this game can payout really well.

Payout ratio (or RTP) of Jokerizer slot

This slot is slightly unusual in that it does not have just one RTP. An RTP is basically the calculated payout rate to show how many times out of 100 you can potentially win. Unfortunately, this does not mean that you will win 98 per cent of the time! In this game, as there are two ‘modes’, there are two different RTPs. In the souped-up Jokerizer mode, the RTP is 98 per cent, which means there are more chances to win big but also more chances to lose. If you played the game without entering this mode, which is really unlikely as it is pretty simple to trigger, the RTP falls to 88 per cent.

Don’t worry about this. The game maker has designed the game to be fun and has deliberately made it easy to trigger the Jokerizer mode.

Jokerizer slot graphics

The graphics here perfectly match the overall retro theme of the game. The reels are set against a backdrop of a traditional fair - the kind you would find on a seaside pier. There are rides in the background, such as a big Ferris wheel, a wooden rollercoaster, bumper cars, and even a merry-go-round.

The symbols on the reels are pretty old-school, with a number seven, a golden bell, red cherries, purple grapes and a lemon. These all glint and gleam on the reels, which is a nice touch. There is also a purple star in a turquoise circle background, and - of course - the happy joker himself.

The music is meant to add to the theme, but overall it comes across as a little creepy. The sound effects are meant to mimic old slot machines, but you can turn some or all of the sound off if you prefer.

Jokerizer game theme

The game theme here is a classic fruit slot machine with an added joker. It may have been done many times before, but it is still hugely popular. Having said that, it is no mean feat to produce yet another game in this style and theme that does not feel old and like it has all been done before, so hats off to the team that developed it.

How to play Jokerizer slots

This game sounds complicated on paper; however, it is really user-friendly and packed with customisable options. It is spread over three rows and five reels, with 10 paylines. You can bet between 0.10 and 2.00 coins.

There is an autoplay feature that enables you to select automatic spins between 10 and 1,000 times. You can also select to stop the autoplay when you win a certain amount or when cash increases or decreases by a certain amount. In addition, you can select auto collect in the Jokerizer mode when you reach a certain level.

You can also opt to have your winnings displayed in coins or in cash. You can even control the spin speed, from super-fast to super-slow, and can control volume for the sound effects and background ambience music separately.

Once you have selected all these features, simply spin to match at least three symbols in the base game. Be sure to keep close track on your winnings if you are playing for real money, as it can be harder to keep track due to the way that winnings from the base game are automatically added to the Jokerizer balance when it is triggered. Don’t worry, as you will soon get the hang of it.

Jokerizer game volatility

In the same way that this game has a variable RTP, it has variable volatility. In the Jokerizer mode, it is quite a highly volatile game, which means you have less opportunity to win but will win higher amounts when you do. It is low volatility in the base game, meaning you have might win more often but your wins will be worth less.

How to win at Jokerizer slots

To win in the base game, simply match at least three of the symbols. Match any three lemons or cherries and get 20 coins, four sees you get 40 coins, and five gets you 100. If you match three grapes, you will get 20 coins, four gets you 60, and five 120. Match three bells for 40 coins, four for 60 and five for 160. Get three sevens and you will get 40 coins, four and it is 80 coins, and five sees you get 240 coins. The star is the most valuable with 60 coins for three, 100 for four and 400 for five.

The joker himself is the most valuable symbol and triggers mystery prizes. Matching any three symbols will also trigger the bonus Jokerizer game

Jokerizer bonus features

This game has two main bonus features, the first of which is the Jokerizer mode. Matching any three symbols in the base game triggers this mode. It costs 20 coins to enter it; however, once triggered, it means you have increased chances to win and more chances to match the joker symbols, which is what can bag you the big prizes. This mode can be triggered multiple times and ends when you opt to collect your winnings or win a mystery prize.

The mystery wins, triggered by the joker, are the other bonus features. In the base game, matching three jokers on reels two, three or four will get you at least 1,000 coins and potentially up to 6,000. In the Jokerizer mode, you only have to match two jokers on these reels to be in with a chance of winning a mystery prize of between 20 coins and 6,000 coins.

Jokerizer strategy and tips

This game can seem quite complex at first, although it is fairly straightforward once you get used to the various modes. As such, the best strategy is to play for free first before betting any cash. This is especially good for getting used to when to best collect the Jokerizer winnings.

Jokerizer slot biggest possible win

If you only play in the base game and match no jokers, the biggest win is a mere 400 coins; however, this is very unlikely in practice, as it is easy to trigger the Jokerizer mode. In reality, the biggest win is 6,000 coins.

Free spins on Jokerizer slot

There are no free spins in this slot; however, it has other great features and you don’t really feel like you are missing out. If free spins are your thing, however, it might be better to look elsewhere.
