Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The card symbols - diamond, heart, club and spade - are nicely rendered in a coloured gem style. The other game icons are traditional cultural icons - a gold fountain, scroll, vase and cymbals - and have a nice amount of detail.

The game’s background is fairly uninspiring, with some cherry blossom trees and what appears to be the back of a Chinese palace or temple - thankfully without the car park. The reels themselves are adorned with traditional red and gold with a few more yin/yang symbols thrown in for good measure.

As you spin, leaves blow delicately across the reels....and you’re going to have to wait a bit longer until you see an actual dragon. When they do appear, as a vertical Wild, the twins are a magnificent golden creature that shimmies across the reels.

The soundtrack is traditional, and totally what you would expect from this game.

How to Play Twin Dragons

1. On the bottom left side of the screen, click the plus icon above the home icon to view the paytable under the i icon.

2. To play in autoplay mode, click the smaller blue and yellow button to the right of the main Spin button in the centre. You can select 10, 50, 100, 500 or 1000 spins.

3. To adjust your bet amount, use the arrows under Coin Value. Bets go from 0.01 to 9.00. To the right, this will adjust the total Cash Bet and show the total across all active paylines. Active Lines are to the left of the Coin Value field.

Our Verdict

If you’re a seasoned online slot player, you’ve probably seen this theme a thousand times. And while some of the graphics, particularly the twin dragon itself, are nice, they offer nothing new. There is also no real narrative or link between the main game and features, so you need to really appreciate the type of gameplay resulting from the bonus features and volatility.

The Bonus Icon is one of the most potentially rewarding aspects of the game. With high volatility, however, it’s unclear how often this feature will present itself. The Spawning Wilds, which in this case are vertical, are another feature that you'll be hoping to see more often than not. But with high volatility, again, it might just not be often enough.

Overall, a game with these two features is just unique enough to be considered a good step up from a straightforward slot with just Scatter and Wild bonus features alone. So if you’re partial to a high-volatility slot, this one might just be worth playing if you can withstand the risk factor.
