Book of Adventure is set deep in Egypt at sunset, with sand dunes highlighted in a stunning orange-red glow in the background. The high paying symbols include Horus, Anubis, and pharaoh Tutankhamun, alongside our explorer himself, who represents the most valuable symbol.

The Book of Adventure that gives the game its title is also featured as a dual wild / scatter symbol, and you can tell this book contains more than stories with its sapphire-edged cover featuring a golden scarab embossed on the front. The low paying symbols are the classic 10 - A playing cards which have undergone an Ancient Egyptian makeover to help them fit in with the game’s theme.

The sound effects have also been carefully chosen, with a relaxing melody and woman singing over the reels that adds to the suspense of the game beautifully. Winning combinations are celebrated by a slight change of tempo and a satisfying jingle as coins fall into your Balance.

Gameplay

Winning combinations are made along 10 paylines in this game, starting from the far-left reel. Lower paying symbols need to match 3 along a payline, while the higher symbols only require 2 matches! To start spinning, it’s worth firstly checking the paytable, rules, and settings for the game. You can do this by clicking the button containing 3 lines in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Our Verdict

Overall, despite arguments that Book of Adventure is just another rehash of Book of Dead or Book of Ra, we still really enjoyed playing this slot. The music is incredibly soothing and pleasant to listen to and despite a high volatility rating, we managed to hit plenty of winning combinations to prevent the game from being too frustrating, even with fewer paylines activated. It was particularly nice to have the higher paying symbols pay out for just two of a kind, keeping our balance from getting too low while we waited for more impressive wins!

We sadly weren’t able to trigger the free spins bonus round during our session, although we got close a few times and will almost definitely be playing again in the future in the hopes of hitting some of the lucrative rewards hidden in this round!
