Theme, graphics and soundtrack

In a game that leans so heavily on the iconography of Irish folklore it is reasonable to expect stereotyping. The backdrop is a panorama of the Irish countryside in pale blues and greens. The reels are semi-transparent so the scene is always visible. The symbols are nicely drawn, with careful detail, like the ladybird on the clover leaf and the light glinting on the body of the fiddle. The music has a very strong Irish influence and is more dramatic than folksy. When the reels come to rest, they sound oddly like horses’ hooves. It's a good-looking game.

How to play Clover the Rainbow

1. Use the arrows to either side of the bet meter to adjust your bet.
2. Click the small spin button to access the autoplay options. Choose the number of automatic spins you require from 25 to continuous. You can also set autoplay to stop if your losses exceed a fixed level and if a single win is greater than a specified amount.

Clover the Rainbow review: our verdict

This is a very straightforward slot but doesn’t pretend to be anything more. It looks good and plays well. Although there is no bonus game, the free spins round has an original look with the giant symbol held in the middle three reels while you wait to see if you can land a winning combination. It’s a shame about the low RTP because it’s a decent little game otherwise.
