Introduction

Since their inception in 2020, Matrix Studios has been rapidly building its reputation so that Matrix Studios free slots are now widely available on casino sites all over the world. In Toro Bravo Matrix are taking on the popular Book of Toro slot from Elk Studios, with their own rather different take on the world of the toreador. Although perhaps not as ubiquitous as Ancient China or Egypt, the bull-fighting theme has inspired a number of free slots so it’s inevitable that developers new and old will gravitate towards it.

Toro Bravo has a 5-reel, 3-column grid with 243 pay ways. The minimum bet size is 0.30 and the maximum is 150. There are 12 regular symbols: the toreador, the lady, the bull, the hat, the bull’s head coin, the guitar, the fan and 5 coins of descending value. The wild is the red rose.

Theme, Graphics and Soundtrack

The Matrix look is easily recognisable. While some of the illustrations may be slightly crude, they’ve taken the trouble to prepare a decent background, with water, windmills and fast-moving clouds all benefitting from animation. The reel itself is functional and clear and the celebratory cascades of coins are adequate. It isn’t clear why we’re not in a bull-fighting stadium, which would be a preferable setting. Still, it does the hob and the Spanish guitar soundtrack is unobtrusive.

Toro Bravo Review: Our Verdict

This has the standard Matrix game play and extras. It just feels a little under-whelming. The features are mostly concerned with free spins instead of direct prizes and the gamble feature is the most interesting part. Poor RTP and high volatility don’t help. Not a top-rank creation.
