Bears - Casino Review

Bears Casino MN is basically a sports bar with a few slot machines thrown in for good measure. It’s a place you might stop when you’re travelling through, proving a great place to rest from the road, have a drink and spin some reels before you move on again, down Minnesota State Highway 113.

Casino Games

To call Bears a Waubun casino may be pushing it a bit. The entirety of the gaming section consists of just 10 slot machines. There are no table games, you can’t play Poker, there’s no Bingo or anything else. Of course, you can also watch your favorite sporting events on the big screen at the same time, and don’t forget to eat and drink at the bar.

Slots

Well, this is entirely going to depend on whether the 10 slot machines are 10 games that you like. If they are then you probably could spend a few happy hours here. If not then you may want to move on to the next Minnesota casino. They’re modern and exciting slots, but obviously with only 10 machines, your choices are limited. It does, however, make for a cozy and intimate environment.

Table Games

Only 10 slot machines seems like plenty compared to the zero table games available at Bears. No Blackjack, no Roulette, no Poker. Again, the casino section seems designed more for someone who’s passing through than someone who wants a long night of excitement.

Features and Amenities

Waubun only has a population of 400 people, which makes Bears one of the most exciting locations in the area. The sports bar is an excellent place to quench your thirst as well as enjoying the slots. It’s just what you need if you’ve been traveling for a while.

Accommodation

Obviously the bar itself isn’t the greatest place to stay if you’re planning to stop overnight, but there are hotels in Waubun. That includes one at the nearby Cedar Crest Resort, a larger casino with eight cabins and six motel rooms, as well as space for more than 50 RVs.

Dining

The sports bar probably takes precedence over the casino at Bears. It serves drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, while the menu offers a wide selection of snacks and full meals. You can eat in or on the go at your convenience. There are other cafés and a pizzeria in the nearby area, so you do have other options.

Parking

If you’re visiting Bears then you’re most likely to be driving. There’s not much in the way of public transport links and you can’t ride a shuttle bus to the bar. Luckily, there’s a decent sized parking lot with 15 spaces available.

Loyalty Program

There are no Bears promotions or loyalty programs. As a place you’re more likely to pass through on route to somewhere else, there aren’t many regular customers to collect rewards for their dedication to the casino.

Overall Review

As USA casinos go, no, Bears isn’t going to win any awards for being the biggest and brightest. It is, however, pretty much perfect if you like sports bars and maybe want to give the slots a quick try while you’re there. The food and drink are delicious and the atmosphere is ideal for catching up on the game before you move on to your final destination.
