Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa NJ Review

Given the area’s reputation, you might be surprised to learn that there are only nine Atlantic City casino sites. However, they are mostly major enterprises hosting thousands of visitors every day.

The Borgata is considered to be the largest of all Atlantic City casinos, taking into account the size of the gaming floor plus the number of machines and table games. It is located right in the heart of this world-famous casino community and is one of the most luxurious places to stay and play.

Casino Games

Borgata’s vast gaming floor has more games than you could ever hope to play, with table games, live poker, slots, Beat the Book Pro Football Sweeps, and regular promotions.

Slots

The collection at Borgata is almost a history of the best online slots USA casinos have to offer, with traditional fruit-themed games sitting alongside tried-and-true favorites, while brand-new creations are added regularly, keeping the selection up-to-date yet as broad as possible.

There are 30 poker slots alone and nearly 4,000 slots in all, including:

  • Invaders From Planet Moolah
  • 88 Fortunes
  • Cleopatra II
  • Panda King
  • Wheel of Fortune - Classic

Table Games

There are 50 poker tables and 180 table games, including stalwarts like Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Baccarat as well as more specialist games like Pai Gow Tiles, Let It Ride, Spanish 21 and Big Six.

History

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa NJ opened in July 2003, quickly establishing itself as the highest-grossing casino in Atlantic City. It was a joint venture between MGM Mirage and Boyd Gaming. Its main tower is the third tallest building in the city and is a dominant feature of the skyline with its façade of reflective gold glass.

Features and Amenities

In addition to the enormous casino, there is the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa hotel, live music and comedy, 15 restaurants, bars and cafes, shops, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, a salon and a wide range of luxury retail outlets.

Dining

There are too many venues to talk about in detail, but you can choose from upscale restaurants serving Japanese, Italian, American, Pan-Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, a steakhouse, a bar and grill, a buffet, casual dining, quality fast food, baked goods and a Starbucks. In-room dining is also available to hotel guests.

There are plenty of bars, including the BetMGM Sportsbook & Bar with a 40-foot LED video wall and six betting windows.

Shopping

At the Retail Piazza and The Shoppes at the Water Club, you’ll find stylish fashion and jewelry outlets, a wine shop, gifts, merchandise, food and essentials.

Accommodations

With 10 different room categories, the two hotel towers - the Main Tower and The Water Club - have nearly 3,000 guest rooms and suites. The Main Tower is the larger, with almost 2,000 rooms, and it opened at the same time as the casino. The Water Club, with 800 rooms, opened in 2008. All rooms have marble bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and every amenity you could want.

Loyalty Program

M life Rewards is the Borgata’s loyalty program, which is free to join and enables you to win Express Comps when you play any of the games that are redeemable for free-play credit and other Express Comps. You also qualify for exclusive promotions and offers from participating casinos. In addition, you can earn Holiday Gift Shoppe Points redeemable at sites worldwide.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa NJ Review

The only thing missing from Borgata is a riverfront or coastal setting. Otherwise, it is the ultimate casino hotel experience.
