Lake of the Torches Casino WI Review

Native American ownership of land-based casinos in Wisconsin is widespread. Some tribes own and operate several. This Lac Du Flambeau casino is one of two run by the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, the other being the Lake of Torches bingo.

Lake of the Torches has 56,000 square feet of gaming floor, a hotel, restaurants, bars, nightlife and live entertainment. It is also blessed in its stunning lakeside setting with views of the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Casino Games

The range of games is not as extensive as in the biggest resorts but there is nevertheless a generous mix of slots and table games. One of the special features is the Super Spots game, a form of keno in which you could win up to $25,000 with a lucky pick of numbers.

Slots

There are more than 800 slots at Lake of the Torches, mixing classics with new entries, many of which will be familiar as online free slots. Favorites on offer include:

  • Lazer Lock Ice Sapphire

Table Games

On the eight tables, you can play Roulette, Blackjack, Craps and other dice games as well as several poker variants and several lottery games. Electronic versions of the classic table games are also available.

History

The Lake of the Torches Resort Casino came into operation in the 1970s when Native American tribes from all over Wisconsin reached agreements with state officials which allowed then to open bingo halls. In the 1980s, a new agreement was signed allowing an upgrade to a casino, housed at the time in the Save More grocery store. In 1996 the casino moved to its current site on the shores of Pokegama Lake.
