Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

Step inside the Troll’s dank and dreary lair, where bursts of beautiful colour can be found in the precious crystals naturally formed within the rocks.

An animated video introduces us to the slot, giving some background to the little Troll and his gem discovery. The slot is dark, with the light misty middle portion inside the cavern that serves as the reel matrix. The troll with the toothy grin is to the left, keeping us company throughout. 

Graphics are nicely detailed, striking a balance between cartoon and realistic rendering. Even the card symbols are made to look as though they’re constructed by rock, with encrusted gems spiking from the sides. 

Wins trigger bright animations, and even gems that fall down are eaten by the troll. A light soundtrack accompanies gameplay with a touch of magic, humour and mischief. It’s a moody yet oddly humorous, quirky slot that engages the senses as you spin the reels.

Three, four or five scatters will trigger this feature and multiply the total bet by 5x, 15x or 30x respectively.

The 888 team has done well here with the good-quality graphics and animations, which help the slot stand out from the crowd. We also like the soundtrack and comical edge to keep this feeling light-hearted. 

The RTP is pretty disappointing, and the payouts here may not be generous enough for the bigger hitters, even though the top stake is substantial. However, the free spins round is given a nice twist with the multiplier first and then the possibility of sticky wilds, and the game is given a little tension by way of surprise progressive jackpots if your luck is in.
