Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The reels are contained in the central apparatus that dominates the Mad Genius's lab, which is lined with shelves of equipment under a vaulted ceiling. As the player you're looking over his shoulder as he works at the reels, and he celebrates with you if a win comes in. The design of the base game feature where you select a reel for re-spin adds to the feel of working in the lab. The symbols, as expected, fit into the theme, consisting of the Mad Genius himself, his assistant, various pieces of lab equipment and, worryingly, a rabbit - although thankfully it's the rabbit's carrots that appear in the features. A bouncy, slightly macabre soundtrack completes the atmosphere.

How to Play The Mad Genius

1. Once the game has loaded, touch anywhere on the screen to continue to the introductory screen.
2. The introductory screen summarises all the features. Check the box to skip this screen on future games,;otherwise click Play to go to the game.
3. Familiarize yourself with the game, its rules, features and paytable with the '?' icon.
4. Adjust your total bet by using the + and - buttons either side of the coins, lines and bets per line displays. 
5. The Max Bet button switches the number of lines to 30 and the number of coins to five. The coin value remains unchanged. 
6. If you want to use Autoplay, the Autoplay button will allow you to adjust the settings for your game. These include adjusting the bet amounts and lines and the number of automatic plays. Be aware of the total cost of your Autoplay rounds and be ready to stop Autoplay before you need to. Autoplay starts immediately after you touch the OK button.
7. Further settings, including sound settings and Turbo spin, can be found via the Settings icon.

The Mad Genius Bonus Features

Reel Respin

This unusual feature lets you re-spin a single reel for a pre-determined price at the end of each spin. You need to move quickly if you're in Autoplay mode and you want to re-spin before the reels continue.

Click Me Mini-Game

There are three round-bottom beaker Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. If they land, they trigger a Click Me mini-game. Click on the beakers to reveal instant wins or free spins. The mini-game continues until you reveal the 'Collect' sign.

Wild Switches

Land three Wild Switch Scatters on any of the reels, and one random reel will turn Wild for a random number of spins. If during those spins you land another Wild Switch, the Wild reel will stay on for another spin. 

Bonus Round

If three Carrot Scatters land anywhere on the reels, this triggers the Bonus round. Help the Mad Genius mix a chemical compound to experiment on the carrot for a random bonus prize.

Bonus features can only be triggered during the base game and not while another bonus feature is in progress - e.g. during free spins or during the Wild reel feature. The Reel re-spin feature is also disabled while other bonus features are in progress.
