Theme and Graphics

Mount Magmas has a fiery volcano theme with the reels set inside a crater and symbol that feature all sorts of different rocks and gems. It has an eye-catching look that will really draw the player in, but we do have to admit, it’s not as imaginative as other Push Gaming slots.

Slots like Dinopolis, Fat Rabbit and Land of Zenith are all so creative and unique. Push Gaming’s design team is incredibly creative, so it’s a little bit disappointing that Mount Magmas just isn’t up to the same level of their other slots.

Push Gaming’s Mount Magmas slot has a payout percentage of 96.25%.

It’s also a medium variance slot. This isn't super common among online slots nowadays. Usually, newer slots are all very highly volatile. So, it's nice to see a slot with more of a balance.

How to Win

There are 20 paylines in Mount Magmas slots, and wins are created by landing three or more matching symbols on any of them.

The wild and the red crystals are the most generous symbols in the game, both providing top prizes of 500x. For a payline win, this is incredibly generous and gives players something to look forward to outside of the bonus.

Super Stacks

All of the high-paying symbols can appear in stacks. This is a subtle feature that has the potential to trigger to impressive wins.

Magma Rock

When a magma rock symbol appears on the reels, it will travel into the volcano and a wild will be placed on the reels in its position. This can potentially trigger the Volcano Bonus Feature.

Volcano Bonus

When you trigger the Volcano Bonus Feature, you enter a pick-a-prize style bonus game. This round starts with a Magma Spin which will determine the maximum payout for the round. The options are:

You then begin picking from rocks, laid out in in several rows. You begin at the bottommost row and click on rocks to collect prizes.

Overall Review

Mount Magmas is such a simple game that it really doesn’t feel like a Push Gaming slot. Even in the developer’s simpler titles, there is something that really stands out – but Mount Magmas just doesn’t have that X Factor.

Frequently Triggered Bonus

The bonus round isn’t the most innovative out there, but it has the potential to be very generous – especially since there are two progressive jackpots attached to them. You can also trigger it fairly frequently – but, this also has its drawbacks.

For example, you could trigger the bonus round, 3 times in 100 spins (like we did), but only one of those instances will be particularly fruitful. In our experience, the most we managed to land in three bonus games was £10, so the frequent triggers are a double-edged sword.

Progressive Prizes Are a Plus

Progressive jackpots really aren’t very common in the online slots world nowadays. At select casinos, Red Tiger Gaming, Microgaming and Playtech offer jackpot slot games, but you don’t see many new releases with progressive prizes up for grabs.

Not The Most Impressive Effort from Push

Push Gaming is known for creating unique games with outside-of-the-box gameplay. However, Mount Magmas isn't all that thrilling outside of the progressive jackpots since we don't see them all that often anymore.

It actually doesn't really feel like a Push Gaming slot, especially when you compare it with games like Jammin Jars and Razor Shark. It hasn't got the same edge as other slots from this developer - but, it could be that Push is aiming to cater to a different type of slots player with this release.
