Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

So, if you knew what a Colibri was prior to playing this game, you may have been expecting a hummingbird. If not, you will probably have been confused when you opened it, perhaps expecting a cowboy themed slot or similar. In either case, what you have is, you guessed it, another fruity.

The way in which the fruits are presented is, we suppose, slightly different in that they are in some cases exotic fruits, and they’ve been sliced open. But the rest of the interface looks clunky and has the appearance of an old 90s website in that there is little consistency in fonts and colors.

The background is fairly dark and not really in keeping with the rest of the game. The game title is bizarrely squashed against the top of the screen. CT Gaming makes very little effort to differentiate between its titles, so perhaps this is evidence of a cut and paste job. Certainly, the controls are the same as on their other titles.

And, as you will have come to expect if you are familiar with CT Gaming, there is no soundtrack per se. Despite being asked on the start-up page, if you want music, the only way you’ll be getting any is if you let the game go idle and it decides to wake you up!

How to Play Colibri Wild

1. Use the blue ‘i’ button in the top left corner of the screen to view the win amounts for each combination.

2. To play in autoplay mode, use the green settings icon in the bottom left of the screen and adjust the AUTOPLAY settings using the plus and minus buttons.

3. In the bottom center of the screen, the total bet amount is displayed. You can adjust this by clicking the green settings icon in the bottom left of the screen. Once you’re in the settings, you can adjust the line bet using the plus and minus buttons. In demo mode, the number of lines played is fixed at 100.

4. To start play, click the large red SPIN button in the bottom right of the screen.

On the bottom right of the screen you can view your balance amount.

Wild Blue Hummingbird

This striking bird is the game’s Wild Symbol and will appear on reels 1 and 3 only. It can substitute for all of the other symbols on the reels except for the pink flower Scatter symbol. When the bird appears on the first reel, all of the symbols on the first, second and third reels turn Wild if they are on the same row or a lower one.

When the bird appears on the third reel, all of the symbols on the third, fourth and fifth reels become Wild if they are part of a winning combination and are on the same row or a lower one.

Our Verdict    

This is categorised as an animal themed slot, but really, the presence of a blue hummingbird can’t elevate it beyond what the gameplay betrays it to actually be—a bog standard fruity. And, unfortunately, it can’t be said that it even manages to replicate the classic fruit machines of the past very successfully. And even those old one arm bandits seemed to react quicker than some of the buttons on this game.

A Wild and a Scatter can only be considered to be ‘features’ insofar as they wouldn’t usually be featured on a traditional slot machine. Within the world of online slots, a game with just these two diversions from basic gameplay is very unimaginative.

All this being said, if you have enjoyed other CT Gaming titles, there is no reason that you wouldn’t like this one. It would be remiss, though, not to point out the vast differences in quality and commitment to originality between their titles and those from other developers. If you find this game to be profitable for you, there would be absolutely no reason not to keep playing. Everything else is, of course, secondary to the purpose of trying to create some wins.

If this is your first outing with this developer, however, we suspect you won’t exactly be clamouring for more.
