A Game of Queens

The opening screen shows the Queens facing off in a huge, dimly lit hall whose floor is a giant chessboard. Take note - we will return here. Once you decide to play, you are transported to a gloomy and threatening Wonderland. Behind wrought iron gates, huge statues of chess pieces stand out against a cloudy sky, with a castle looming behind. Against this backdrop are the five reels which make up the game. Unusually, the background to the reels is transparent, so the symbols spin across the sinister Wonderland landscape. There are twenty-five paylines, and you can choose the number of lines that you play and the amount that you bet. Are you ready? The lowest paying symbols are the familiar playing card symbols, nine through to the ace, here rendered very simply in muted metallic shades. Two nines will double your initial stake, and three nines will multiply your stake by five. Your winnings will increase with the number and value of the symbols, however, until five aces will net you 250 times your wager.

Then we come to the higher paying symbols, the characters. Here we have Tweedledee and Tweddledum, Humpty Dumpty, the Red Queen and the White Queen. Maybe the White Rabbit is too scared to put in an appearance? The Tweedles and Humpty are both worth 15 times your wager for three, 100 times your wager for four, and 500 times your initial bet for five of a kind. It’s the ladies you really want to watch out for, though. Both Queens are worth 50, 250 or 750 times your bet, depending on how many appear on your payline. They can do so much more than that, though... If a Red Queen appears on reel 1 and a White Queen appears on reel 5 - or vice versa - then you are through to the innovative and exciting Bonus Game, the Battle of the Queens. The ladies face each other on a gleaming chessboard, and you must choose who you will support before the battle begins. Depending on the outcome of the battle and your choice of champion, you will then have either the Red Queen’s Free Spins Game or the White Queen’s Pick game, with more spins or picks if you supported the winning Queen.
