There are countless versions of the Monopoly board game, and Monopoly: Lunar New Year is one of the newest additions to the series. It’s got a unique twist inspired by the traditions of Chinese New Year, where players purchase shops (like the Jade Shop and Flower Market), collect gifts and use firecrackers, lanterns and ingots to travel around the board.

SG aims to recreating this experience by using a lush red and gold color scheme with symbols that include tea services and gifts. There aren’t very many references to the board game itself, but it’s still an attractive slot with a nice design.

How to Win

In Monopoly Lunar New Year, there are 243 ways to win, which expand when you trigger select features. To land wins, matching symbols must appear on adjacent reels starting from the left side of the screen.

Chest Prizes

Along the top of the screen, there are three chests located about the 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th reels. They can display:

If a Lunar Coin lands on the reels, it will reveal either a:

Monopoly Lunar New Year is a great addition to the Monopoly series but, like many other Monopoly slots, it can be a little bit convoluted.

We love it when there’s lots to do in an online slot game, but it can easily get confusing. This ends up being the case in Monopoly: Lunar New Year, as there are plenty of features and the paytable doesn’t do the best job of explaining how they work.
