Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

The background to the reels is incredibly detailed, with a capacity crowd at the Colosseum about to be entertained. Above the reels is a rather well designed Gladiator, who begins the game wearing minimal clothing, becoming clad in armor as the game progresses.

This takes up a rather large amount of the screen, and seems to serve no point to the gameplay. It would have been far more effective had the screen been designed with far larger reels, which perhaps shrunk slightly once Cash Advance was entered. Unfortunately, it does leave you with somewhat smaller reels than you might expect, making symbols somewhat difficult to read.

Land 5 Colosseum symbols in any location on the reels to return a win of 100x the total bet.

The Colosseum symbol also holds the key to the bonus feature. Land 3 or more scatters on the reels in any location allows you to select from three separate free spin features between 10 and 15 spins. 

Free spins can be retriggered by landing 3 or more scatters on the reels during the feature.

The features developed within Roman Legend are engaging and trigger relatively regularly, with sometimes lucrative results. It is puzzling as to why the reels are designed so small, as this can make some of the in-game elements quite difficult to see at times, particularly on smaller screens.
