Introduction

Foxium are one of those game developers you’ve probably heard of - but you may not be able to pinpoint any of their actual games. Despite this, they’ve been responsible for some fairly successful titles including the likes of Boom Pirates and Astro Legends. However, as Foxium’s slots are now pushed out to online casinos directly by Microgaming (through their Quickfire platform) you may have inadvertently played their games without knowing it - so keep reading to learn more about what the developer are actually capable of and what you can expect when playing 3 Tiny Gods for yourself!

Theme

3 Tiny Gods is set in Ancient Egypt, and the game developer has chosen to take a somewhat simple approach when it comes to graphics; this is quite surprising. Normally, Foxium likes to make their games stand out, and we can’t help but feel that 3 Tiny Gods is missing that little extra “oomph” that’s needed in today’s fast-paced, action-packed online gambling world.

How to Play 3 Tiny Gods Slots

Players can spin the reels from as little as .10 coins per spin with the maximum spin (online casino dependant) goes as high as 50 coins per spin. The game is built using HTML5 technology, as you’d expect, and this means it can be played across all mobile devices. You don’t need to download or install any software to play - it’s an “instant play” game - and the slot is set around a 5-reel, 4-row format with a total of 30 fixed paylines in play at all times.

Like all Foxium slots, you’ll have access to a relatively detailed paytable and some basic in-game adjustments. However, unlike other software providers like Yggdrasil and Wazdan you aren’t able to adjust the quality of the graphics or the game’s volatility.

3 Tiny God’s Symbols And Payouts

Take a look at 3 Tiny Gods’ paytable and you’ll see that there’s a total of 9 different symbols in play here. The first four of these symbols are lower-paying symbols, and if we’re completely honest with you, these symbols are, essentially bogus; they don’t pay much, and they tend to stack annoyingly on the reels in the wrong place at the wrong time! The lower-paying symbols are all various forms of playing cards, shaped in gem form, and you’ll see the usual Hearts, Spades, Diamonds and Clubs present on all reels.

The game’s higher-paying symbols (and the ones you’ll want to be keeping a close eye on, should you choose to give the slot a go for yourself) is made up of 5 theme-specific symbols. This includes a Bastet, an Anubis, Horus, Cleopatra and the great Pharaoh himself. Of course, the Pharaoh is the game’s highest paying symbol, awarding a payout of 20X your total stake for lining up a 5-of-a-kind combo of him on an active payline.

However, there is one better-paying symbol and that’s the golden wild which appears on all five reels. If you manage to match a 5-of-a-kind combo of this symbol you’ll be rewarded with a payout worth 100X your stake. So, while still not amazing, there is some decent base-game win-potential here. As you’d expect, the golden wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols in the game, bard the scatter symbols which we’ll cover in the following section of this review.

3 Tiny Gods Bonus Features

If the low-appearing payouts were starting to turn you off 3 Tiny Gods you’ll be pleased to know that Foxium have opted to pack the game full of bonuses and features. There are three different reel modifiers and a free-spins bonus which we’ll discuss below.

Reel Modifiers

During the base-game, one of two reel modifiers can trigger on any spin. The third is found during the free-spins bonus round. You’ll know when it does, as the screen begins to shake and darken slightly. The first of these reel modifiers is the Mystery of Horus feature, and when this activates you’ll see either two or three reels adjacent reels covered in a special eye symbol. The reels then perform a weird-looking “shaking” animation, and all instances of this eye symbol on screen then transform into the same symbol.

The second reel modifier feature is the Gift of Bastet bonus. This is only triggered on a non-winning spin. When activated, Bastet - an Egyptian cat god - will come onto the screen and “shake” the reels, which may result in a win being formed.

The third and final reel modifier feature in 3 Tiny Gods is the Wrath of Anubis bonus - although this is only active during the free-spins bonus which we’ll talk about below.

Free Spins

If you’re lucky enough to land three of the scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5,  you’ll trigger 3 Tiny God’s main Free Spins bonus. You will then receive 8 free-spins, and during the free-spins bonus the Wrath of Anubis reel modifier becomes active. On any free spin you may be awarded a random number of additional free-spins, ranging between 3 and 12.

When this feature activates, the current lowest-value symbol will also be removed from the reels. This can happen multiple times (a feature we’ve seen used successfully in a number of Red Tiger Gaming’s slots) and it means that, if you’re lucky, towards the end of the bonus round you can be left with only the higher-paying symbols present on the reels.

Jackpot Feature

3 Tiny Gods is also one of Foxium’s only slots to offer a jackpot feature - although we should point out that it’s not a progressive jackpot, meaning it’s localized; this means that it doesn’t increase the more the game is played, and is only specific to the machine you’re playing at the time.

The jackpot feature is triggered randomly during the base-game, and when it does you’ll see a large number of coins start to appear on one of the symbols (once the spin has completed.) Once you’ve collected enough of these symbols (they’re collected in a pot which you’ll see above the reels) you’ll be in with the chance of triggering the Jackpot Bonus game. You then simply scratch off symbols on the screen until you reveal three matching ones, awarding either the Mini, Midi or Maxi jackpots which are worth 15X, 100X and 5,000X your stake respectively.

Our Verdict Of 3 Tiny Gods

With a bunch of different reel modifiers on offer, plenty of potential during the bonus round and a relatively smooth and good-looking game, Foxium appear to have another successful release under their belt with 3 Tiny Gods. Unfortunately, as it’s distributed via Microgaming’s Quickfire platform they’re unlikely to get the real recognition they deserve - but if you’re looking for a game that has a progressive symbol-collecting-like bonus round the free-spins round is ideal, and we do like the fact that there’s a feature buy option so you don’t have to wait around playing the base-game to trigger it.

Our biggest complaint of the game is the simple fact that the jackpot feature offers nothing we haven’t seen before. It’s an identical mechanism to that seen in Bally’s 88 Fortunes, and we’d have liked Foxium to have been a little more creative in the way they awarded their in-game jackpots. The lower-paying jackpot - the Mini - is also worth just 15X.

On the whole, however, 3 Tiny Gods is a decent offering from the little-known game studio, and if you'd like to give it a go for yourself - without risking any of your own money - you can play it free here at Slots Temple without needing to register an account.
