The Look
Upon first glance, Jewel of the Dragon isn’t necessarily one that you would write home about it. The graphics are quite outdated and the symbols are typical and expected of a classic slot machine.

The Format
The actual gaming screen is quite long. Rather than being a horizontal rectangle, it is vertical. There is space above the screen where a cartoon dragon sits with a jewel. He doesn’t do anything aside from giving you a smirk and breathing heavily – but it’s a nice touch.
The space at the top of the screen is actually there so that you can see the Hot Zones falling on to the reels. Hot Zones are translucent purple squares that fall on to the reels to create wild symbols. There are over 20 different Hot Zone patterns, and they could fall on the screen at any moment.
The symbols that are covered will turn wild, and they will return to regular symbols on the next spin. We quite like this format because it creates a little bit of a sweat for every spin, as you’re eager to see if you’ll trigger a hot zone.
The Bonuses
There are two main bonuses in Jewel of the Dragon slots. The first bonus is a free spins game, triggered by three scatter symbols. The player earns eight free spins and locked Hot Zones are triggered. As such, the Hot Zones stay in place for all eight free spins to help trigger generous prizes.
The second is a pick-a-prize bonus which is triggered when three jewels are attached to regular symbols. Then, three jewels appear on the screen. The player picks one to reveal at Hot Zone, which is directly applied to the reels to generate a big win.
