Layout

As with most contemporary slots, there are five reels with three rows each, laid out in a five x three configuration. Paylines are fixed; however, there is a variable coin bet ranging from one to 100, with ten increments in total. A range of prizes, large and small, are awarded to lucky players who manage to find instances of three, four and five of a kind adjacent matching symbols, oriented from left to right in a valid configuration. The prize table contains 12 symbols in total, ten of which are regular sorts for prize matches. The remaining two are special types that award scatter and wild play in addition to a break-out bonus round. The higher value and special symbols are a mix of creatures and objects from Norse end-time mythology, including chief god Odin; Ratatoskr, the messenger squirrel; and Nidhogg, the dragon that gnaws at the roots of the tree. Lower value symbols consist of classic playing card designations such as A, K, Q and J.

Prize table

The most valuable regular symbol is the white bird, shortly followed by the dragon. After these come the squirrel and finally the deer. Way down at the other end of the scale is the 9 symbol, which is the least valuable in the game.

Wild

Odin, chief among the old Norse gods, is the first of two special symbols. This is a wild, which in this game means that it can be used as a substitute for any symbol except for the scatter as part of a winning combination in a valid configuration. If one or more wilds are involved in a win as substitutes, the highest prize is paid.

Scatter

The Yggdrasil: The Tree of Life logo is the second of the special symbols. This symbol is a scatter, which means it awards prizes for instances of three to five appearing on the reels in any configuration, regardless of orientation and position.

Yggdrasil feature

This break-out bonus round is also triggered by the Yggdrasil scatter symbol. Finding three or more of these scattered on the reels will begin the round, in which players are taken to a three-round mystery pick game. Players have ten rune symbols from which to choose at each stage and clicking on each individually will reveal either a prize amount or a 'next', which will advance the bonus round to the next area.
