Origami Review Introduction
This sweet and rewarding Asian inspired slot from Endorphina is packed full of paper animals and beautiful graphics for a simple slot that’s sure to inspire and impress.
Win in Origami by matching 3+ symbols along one of the 10 active paylines. Although 10 paylines doesn’t seem like a lot, you can win in Origami by matching these symbols from left to right OR right to left, so there’s plenty of opportunity to take home prizes in this game.
Although Origami features no free spins round and doesn’t even have a Wild symbol present, players will want to keep an eye out for the cheeky and cheerful origami cat in this slot, who pops up at random moments with some pretty impressive multipliers for you to take advantage of!
Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack
Origami, as the name suggests, is all about the Asian tradition of folding paper into unique and creative patterns. Every symbol in Origami has been created in this manner and you’ll find some wonderful works of art in the shape of ladybirds, frogs, fish, dogs, seagulls, and more.
The soundtrack for this slot is suitably upbeat and simple to complement the uncomplicated gameplay, while the origami animals each make a noise when they form a winning combination, which we think is a nice touch.
Origami RTP and Variance
Endorphina online slots don’t tend to have a confirmed variance rating, but we do know that Origami offers an RTP of 96%.
How to Play Origami
The game makers at Endorphina tend to prefer an uncluttered and minimalist slot design, with most of the controls hidden away during spins.
1. To start with, look for the three lines to the left of the Origami reel grid. Click here to find most of the controls for the game.
2. From here, firstly click on the ‘I’ icon to pull up the game information including the paytable, paylines, and details on the bonus features for the game.
3. After familiarising yourself with the rules, return to the game menu and click on the poker chip icon to adjust your wager.
4. If you would like to set up automatic spins (either straight away or later in the game), you can adjust your preferences including how many spins and any loss/win limits by clicking the AutoSpin button from the menu. Note this won’t activate AutoSpins, it merely sets up the parameters.
5. When you’re ready to start playing, return to the reels and click on the Spin button to the right.
6. If you would like to activate the AutoSpins you set up a moment ago, click and drag the Spin button towards the centre of the reels. Do this again to stop AutoSpins.
7. You can keep an eye on your total bet, active paylines, latest win, and remaining balance in the blue bar along the very bottom of the screen.
Bet Sizes & Paytable
Setting your wager in Origami is comprised of two parts: the denomination and the bet. Set your denomination from 0.01 up to 1.00 and your bet from 1 to 10. With both of these options on the lowest/highest selection (and all 10 paylines active), this gives you a total betting range of 10 to 100 per spin.
The best rewards in Origami are available when you land 5 matching symbols along an active payline. The top prizes (excluding the multiplier kitty) for each symbol are as follows:
Pinwheel: 5,000
Dog: 3,000
Cat: 3,000
Seagull: 2,000
Ladybird: 1,000
Frog: 1,000
Origami Bonus Features
Origami doesn’t feature much in the way of bonus features. There are no free spins in this slot and there isn’t even a Wild to help you substitute other symbols and increase your winning chances.
That said, Origami does feature a randomly appearing Multiplier which pops up in the form of a cute orange origami kitty cat. This cat offers multipliers up to 50x which will apply to any winning combination that forms while she’s visible.
The lack of bonus features in this slot may put some players off, but for traditionalists, the uncluttered and simplistic gameplay will be a wonderful throwback to classic fruit machine style slots with a unique, playful, modern touch.
Conclusion
Overall, we really enjoyed Origami. We thought the graphics and theme were incredibly well done and the simple design suited the game wonderfully. We loved the little animations and noises each origami animal made when involved in a win and are very tempted to download some templates and make our own paper animals after playing a few spins of this slot!
Although there isn’t much in the way of bonus features in this game, the multiplying kitty offered some really impressive rewards and seemed to show up every few spins. We definitely didn’t see her with the top 50x multiplier, but a few 15x and even a 25x or two offered some decent rewards! It was a little disappointing to see her appear with decent multipliers when no winning combinations were available, but that’s all part of the game.
We must admit, we did miss having a Wild when spinning Origami, but the anyways paylines and only having a small amount of different symbols helped our hit frequency even without this.
If you enjoyed Origami as much as we did, you might also want to check out Yggdrasil’s Japanese-inspired Lucky Neko Gigablox slot.
