Do ELK Studios’ New Automatic Betting Strategies Really Work?

Along with the release of ELK Studios’ new ‘The Lab’ online slots game, the developer has also debuted a new feature called Betting Systems. While the strategy of adjusting your wager based on the previous outcome of a spin is not a new thing in the gambling market, ELK is the first developer to build betting strategies right into the gameplay.

We were very intrigued by this, so, we decided to test out each individual betting strategy. We played 30 spins with each betting strategy. Each time, we started with $100 and made the base wager $.60. Players can start with a base wager of $.15, $.30, $.60, $.90, $1.50, $3, $6 or $9.

The Booster

The Booster raises the wager after every loss and resets after the player hits a win. The bet levels increase at the same increments as The Jumper. Using this system, we were left with $71 and our biggest win was $50.

The Leveller

With this betting system, the bet level is raised by two after every five losses. When a win occurs, the bet level resets. The bet levels increase as follows: $.60 - $1.50 - $6. By the end of our session, we had $99.40 and our biggest win was $27. 

The Jumper

The Jumper is a betting strategy that raises the player’s wager every time they win. The bet resets when the player experiences a loss. The bet levels increase as follows: $.60 - $.90 - $1.50 - $3 - $6. Using this betting system, we were left with $83.38. Our biggest win was $3.  

No System

When we played 30 spins without a betting system, we ended up with a total of $87.64. Our biggest win during this session was $1.50.

Our Verdict

Players should not be discouraged by the fact that we did not return a profit in any of our sessions. Most real-money casino players will have a much longer session than 30 spins. So, it is likely that they will fare better over time. However, the overall experience of each betting systems over 30 spins is quite an accurate representation.

The Booster is certainly likely to return the biggest prizes because you will be make bigger bets more often. However, you will need quite a large bankroll in order to secure a profit over time. The Jumper is the best bet for a player with a modest budget or a punter who wants to play it safe.

One thing that we know for sure is that playing without a betting system fared the smallest ‘big win’. So, it is certainly worth giving the automatic Betting Systems a try because they do seem to help you secure bigger wins over time.
