Online slots are getting more and more creative with every new release. We find ourselves being increasingly impressed with the design and gameplay of the latest releases from online slots developers.
However, sometimes, we find ourselves thinking that online slots designers could have done a little bit more to make a much better game. Here are some of those instances.
Game of Thrones
We can’t express how much we were disappointed by the design of this game. While it is still very generous and offers up great gameplay, the look is just so dull. If it didn’t say ‘Game of Thrones’ across the top of the screen, we would have no idea that this game was supposed to be based on one of the most popular television series of all time.
We can only assume that Microgaming was exercising caution by not including any character symbols. Game of Thrones is notorious for killing off popular characters.
So, it is entirely likely that, in two seasons’ time, any characters that are featured in the slots game would not be in the show anymore. While it makes the game timeless, it also makes Microgaming’s Game of Thrones online slot quite boring as well.
The Simpsons
With the launch of Net Entertainment’s South Park online slots game, we got to thinking which cartoons would be best suited for the online casino world. The Simpsons instantly came to mind, as it is one of the best-known television series of all time. Everyone who grew up watching this series is of legal gambling age, and most of its current fans are also adults.
The Simpsons has lent its name and image to a wide range of branded products, so why not slots?
The Walking Dead
Last year, Aristocrat launched its slot machine based on The Walking Dead. It was one of the best-selling slots game in land-based casinos – but it still hasn’t been released online. We can imagine The Walking Dead would be a huge hit at online casinos, and we’re still waiting for this game to be available in the digital market.
Deal or No Deal
Okay, Deal or No Deal is actually quite a fun online slots game as it offers up some unique bonus features – including offers from the banker. However, we just can’t get past the look of this game.
Usually, branded slots that are based on gameshows are usually really flashy and exciting – but Deal or No Deal is very boring. It looks like a typical fruit machine and there is little – if any – innovation in the design of this game.
