Last week, NetEnt impressed online slot players with the release of its Street Fighter II online slot. The game was a huge hit among players – but, you might find that it’s no longer available. This is due to the fact that NetEnt has decided to temporarily disable the game while they fix “technical issues”.

Why Was Street Fighter II Disabled?

According to eGaming Review, NetEnt had internal concerns about the game. It seems as though “staking behaviour” could impact the gameplay.

What this could mean is that the way players bet or how they change their wagers could make it easier to trigger certain features. If this is the case, it would be possible for players to manipulate the outcome of the game – which defeats the purpose of playing slots.

What Are the Next Steps?

NetEnt has stated that its team is currently in the process of fixing the issue. Once the game has been tested, it will be made available at online casinos again. The statement reads:

“Our teams have already identified a fix that will prevent this issue from occurring, and we are in the process of implementing this. Once this game is certified by our test house, we will make it available to you”.

There were some concerns that Street Fighter II might not make it back into rotation at online gaming sites, but that doesn’t look like it will be the case. It looks like NetEnt is taking the necessary steps to ensure that the game plays like a typical, fair online slot should.

In the meantime, there are still over 100 fun NetEnt slots that you can play at online casinos and for free here at Slots Temple. We’ll make sure to keep you posted when the game makes its way back online.
