NetEnt Software are due to release a brand new slot game called Wild Bazaar on 24th October 2018. This will coincide with their release of another slot game, Halloween Jack, on the same day - a fitting theme for the time of year, and one which will carry all the spooky connotations you would expect from a Halloween-themed game.
Wild Bazaar Theme
Wild Bazaar portrays a different theme, however, as it is based in the bustling market of a Middle Eastern town. With electric fans at the side of the screen, desperately trying to catch a breeze in the stifling hot sunshine, the reels are set under a canopy awning-style stall of the souk. Around the reels, you can see the different wares for sale: jewellery, books, fabric and a radio, from which the market’s Middle Eastern music plays as a background tune while you spin the reels. A cupola, the onion-shaped dome on top of a tower, stands in the background, giving the player the idea that the bazaar is somewhere in Persia.
Wild Bazaar Features
NetEnt Software have brought the market feel into the slot reels themselves, with the symbols: pieces of jewellery with price tags attached in the colours of green, purple, red and blue (the lowest paying symbols); treasure chests in the same corresponding colours (the premium pay out symbols); and the Wild symbol is the letter ‘W’ on an Aladdin-esque flying carpet.
The game is played on 5 reels, 4 rows and 26 pay lines. It is a low to medium volatility game, with an RTP (Return to Player) of 96.15%, a relatively common number for NetEnt Software’s video slots.
5 of a kind with the lower paying jewellery symbols will pay out twice your stake. The Wild symbol and the treasure chests will provide 7.5 times your bet.
There are no bonus symbols and no scatter symbols in Wild Bazaar. NetEnt Software has focused more on the Wild modifier feature with this game - going with quality rather than quantity on the features front.
The Wild modifiers become active when three treasure chests of the same colour appear on one payline from left to right. Each treasure chest colour has its own specific Wild characteristic.
Red chests: These are Stacked Wilds, where the Wild symbols hit the reels in stacks of four.
Purple Chests: The purple chests are Linked Wilds, meaning that the furthest Wild to the left of the reels and the furthest to the right can change all the of the symbols in between them to Wilds as well.
Blue Chests: The blue treasure chests are Colossal Wilds, where the Wilds appear on the reels in 2 x 2 blocks.
Green Chests: The green chests are Multiplier Wilds, which ensure that any wins with one or more Wild will be multiplied by two.
The best thing about the Wilds feature is that two can be activated at once. So if you find that three red and five green chests both burst onto the reels, you will be on the receiving end of three spins with stacked Wilds plus five spins on the 2x multiplier.
Grand Bazaar Slot by Ainsworth
Some avid players may have noticed that NetEnt Software’s new Wild Bazaar game bears striking resemblance to the Grand Bazaar Slot by Ainsworth.
The theme certainly is very similar, and if you have previously enjoyed Grand Bazaar, you are likely to find Wild Bazaar entertaining too. One thing that Grand Bazaar misses from the game, that Wild Bazaar has provided, is a soundtrack in keeping with the souk feel. This adds to the atmosphere with Wild Bazaar. Grand Bazaar only has the noise of the reels spinning and a sound effect when a prize is won.
But the game play is quite different between the two. Most notably, Grand Bazaar has 100 pay lines, in comparison to Wild Bazaar’s 26. Also, Grand Bazaar has a scatter, which is noticeably absent from the new Wild Bazaar game.
Wild Bazaar is thankfully not just a simple cut and paste job from Grand Bazaar Slot by Ainsworth. They are similar in theme, but not too alike in features - variety is the spice of life, and the two games have their advantages. Mix it up a little and try both.
Wild Bazaar Availability
Of course, NetEnt’s Wild Bazaar is available on all platforms in HTML5 - on desktop, mobile and tablet - so you can visit the marketplace whenever you feel like it. Keep an eye out for this brand new slot experience, available on 24th October!
