2014 has been a busy year for the social gaming market. We have seen a number of real-money social casinos debut, including BlingCity and ISIS Friends.
Now, a new social casino joins the market: Casino Saga.
The Concept
Casino Saga is a real-money social casino that has been infused with RPG elements. This takes the social gaming aspect further because players are assuming the role of a character rather than using their own profile. Like RPG games, Casino Saga pushes players to embark on missions and engage in battles in order to level up and earn rewards.
The goal of the game is to reclaim the Golden Crown from the evil Betser. The player does so by earning experience from wagering on casino games and defeating bosses.
The Design
The game has been designed on a completely interactive map by Ars Thanea. There are different terrains and dungeons, so players can explore a whole new world.
The Characters
There are ten avatars to choose from, and many seem to be based on fantasy character tropes. For example, there is an armoured knight, a wizard, an elf and an archer. There are also some more modern characters, include a gun-wielding femme fatale and an Indiana Jones-esque adventurer.
Then, things get even more eclectic. There is a whole cast of characters from which inspiration has been drawn for the villains.
There are 40 villains, including witches, cowboys, boxers, polar bears, gypsies, cave men, aviator, skeletons, pirates, go-go dancers and mad scientists. We have absolutely no idea how they will all fit together, but we are excited to find out.
Social Aspects
Players can interact with one another and add friends on the platform. They are can also earn perks for completing missions, such as bonus cash, free spins and gifts.
Game Selection
Titles for Casino Saga will be provided by Net Entertainment and BetSoft. These two company are well-known for creating innovative 3D slots with fun themes and unique features. As such, we imagine that they will fit right in with the format for Casino Saga.
Some Kinks
When watching the teaser for the game, we noticed some interesting phrases that seem to have gotten lost in translation. For example, the video requests that the hero “help bringing the crown back”. It’s only a small gripe, but incorrect grammar may be an issue for some players – especially if it will be littered throughout the gaming experience.
The trailer for the game is quite intriguing. You can view it on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/88139129.
