On A Date

13% of respondents noted that they had gambled online while they were on a date. These dates must have been pretty substandard if their company needed to whip out their phone and play some slots. 70% of individuals who gamble online while on dates are female while 30% are male.

At Work

35% stated that they have gambled at work. This is actually quite believable. No matter what type of job you work, it is likely that you will seek out entertainment on your smart phone or computer during downtime.

We have certainly played our fair share of Solitaire while waiting for a phone call, so we can certainly see a player logging on to an online casino during a lull in the work day.

40% of people who gambled at work were female and 60% were male.

On Special Occasions

13% of individuals have gambled at a christening while 11% have gambled at a wedding. This seems to be the most unusual location for gambling, simply because special events are supposed to be fun experiences.

If you’re choosing to gamble rather than dancing the night away or catching up with friends, then perhaps you should leave your mobile device at home.

What About When They’re At Home?

When these players are at home, they tend to play at online casinos in certain locations. 50% play casino games in their living rooms, likely while watching television or just relaxing on the couch. 18% of players access online casinos from their bedrooms.

Many individuals browse Facebook or play social games right before bed, so it’s not hard to believe that some people would wager on casino games at the same time.

Alone or Together?

The study also looked at whether players gamble with friends or on their own. 39% of players prefer to gamble in the company of their significant other while 50% would rather gamble alone. We think it’s quite nice that couples enjoy gambling together.
