Introduction 

Relax in the sun with a cocktail with Wazdan's Beach Party slot. This tropical beach themed game has a classic video slot look and feel with a five-reel, three-row layout and 20 fixed paylines. Multiplying your prizes is the object of the game, and you can either risk each win with a chance to double it or build up your multipliers during the free spins feature. Both the scatter and wild symbols pay out, with the scatter triggering a free spins bonus round.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack 

The scene is set on a tropical island bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. Gentle waves lap at the sand, while palm trees rustle in the breeze. The reels are transparent with brightly coloured symbols, including a dart board, party girls, a cocktail drink and an ice cream sundae. The remainder represent playing card symbols going from Ace down to 9. The soundtrack is an acoustic guitar, which sounds great on its own, but each reel spin also contains music which clashes with the background soundtrack. Fortunately, soundtrack and sound effects volume can be controlled independently of one another, and either or both can be turned off completely.

The RTP for Beach Party is 96.37%. The variance is not advertised by the developer, although it has been reported as low to medium.
 

How to Play Beach Party

1. Once the game has loaded, you'll be taken straight to the reels. Before playing, take a moment to familiarise yourself with the game and its settings.
2. The information button gives a quick overview of the paytable, while the '?' button gives more detailed information about the game's rules.
3. The menu button gives access to the game's various settings, including full screen mode, an energy-saving mode (with lower-quality reel animations), two different versions of the risk game and an option to turn off the big win presentation.
4. The sound settings has its own sliders to adjust or turn off the background soundtrack and/or the reels' sound effects and music.
5. Beach Party has three speed settings, which can be adjusted with a toggle button near the spin button. 
6. Adjust your bet by using the + and - buttons to slide from the minimum to maximum bet and then select the bet amount per spin. 
7. To set Autoplay, touch the Autoplay button. You can select up to 1000 automatic spins. Additional autoplay settings are available in the advanced section, where you can set win or loss limits. If you use autoplay, remember to keep an eye on your balance and be ready to stop the spins before you need to. The risk game is not available during autoplay.

Bet Sizes & Paytable Wins 

The bet size for Beach Party ranges from a minimum of 0.20 credits to 100 credits per spin on 20 fixed paylines. Bear in mind that these amounts may differ in different casinos with other currencies. 

Wins in the paytable are shown as multiples of a bet per single line. The highest-paying symbol is the scatter, which will give you 500x, 50x or 5x your bet for five, four and three of a kind respectively, and this is on top of triggering the free spins round. The wild gives the second highest payout at 250x, 25x and 2.5x your bet. There are three higher-tier symbols - the cocktail and the ice cream and the Ace - which will all yield wins even for two of a kind. Low-tier symbols include, K, Q, J, 10 and 9. All wins are multiplied by at least 3x during the bonus game.

Beach Party Bonus Features

Gamble Feature

The gamble feature is a simple red/black card prediction game, with the advanced level including an option to take half your winnings. Predict the colour of the next card correctly and you can double your win with a chance to gamble again or collect your win. Lose the gamble and you lose all your winnings. You can limit your risk by selecting half your winnings to gamble. If you lose, you can still take the remaining half. The gamble feature has up to seven rounds. It's available on all three speed settings but is disabled during the free spins bonus round and during autoplay.

Free Spins Round

Three or more scatters will trigger 15 free spins. Unlike many free spins rounds which run automatically, you have complete control over each spin. All wins on the free spins round are multiplied by three. A dart symbol is added to the centre reel, and if it appears the multiplier level increases by 1x. While the gamble function is disabled during free spins, you have the option to gamble the total win at the end of the 15 free spins round. Free spins cannot be retriggered during the bonus round.

Beach Party Review

Released in 2014, Beach Party is starting to show its age both technically and as a beach themed slot, but this is made up for by the progressive multiplier feature in the bonus game and the paying wild and scatter. We triggered the bonus three times in our trial run, but only managed to progress the multiplier on one of those occasions. Still, a minimum of 3x winnings is good. The unique game settings are a feature that has developed further in more recent Wazdan slots - games like the Dragon's Lucky slot from Wazdan now allow you to set your own variance.
