Caribbean Beach Poker Overview

This simple video table game is based on the highly popular Caribbean Stud version of poker. Players can win up to the 1:100 top prize for a Royal Flush. Each round is short as you play the dealer in a single deal round. Caribbean Beach Poker is one of Wazdan’s oldest games, and it is also one of its most popular poker games. The game has an RTP of 99% and is highly volatile. With minimalist casino imagery and jazzy sounds, the game has a laid-back vibe, as well as low stakes options for the risk-averse. Players simply need to make a stake to play and can then choose to raise, fold, or change their cards.

How to Play Caribbean Beach Poker

This poker game is supremely easy to play, making it a great choice for poker beginners. The main aim is to beat the dealer's hand, whether that's with a pair, a flush or even a high card. There are no other player hands involved. You can only win the payout when the dealer's hand qualifies; otherwise, you will just win a 1:1 ante bet amount.

Betting

To play this game, players must first make an ante bet. At this point, five cards are dealt face up to the player. The dealer is dealt one face-up card and four face-down cards. After the cards have been dealt, the player can fold (lose the ante and the game is over), change (pay the ante amount to change cards), or hit (raise the bet by x2 ante). After the bet has been raised, the dealer’s cards are revealed.

Winning and Losing

For the dealer to qualify, they must be holding a King/Ace. If the dealer does not hold a King/Ace, they do not qualify, but you will be given back both your bets (ante and raise) and a matched ante amount. If the dealer does qualify but your hand wins, you will get back your bet stakes, matched ante, and the relevant prize from the paytable. If the dealer qualifies and has the winning hand, you will lose all of your bet.

Betting Options

The betting options in this poker game may be limited, but they are easy to learn, and there are no side bets to worry about.

Ante Bet

To play this game, you must first make an ante bet. The minimum ante bet is 25p. To make your bet, simply click on your chosen chip from those displayed at the bottom of the screen and hit the play button in the lower centre of the screen.

Fold or Change

Once your ante bet has been made, you will be dealt five cards, face up, and the dealer will be dealt one card face up and four cards face down. Based on your cards and the one visible dealer card, you may choose to fold. If this happens, you lose your ante bet and the round ends. Alternatively, you can choose to change your cards. This will cost you the same as your ante bet but will not be added to your wager amount. Between one and all five of your cards will be changed; the game will automatically retain your best cards.

Raise Bet

If you decide to neither fold nor change, your other option is to raise. This is worth two of your ante bet and effectively triples your total bet. For example, if your ante bet was 25p and you choose to raise, your total bet is now 75p. Any winnings are based on the raised bet. For example, if your ante bet is 25p, your raise is therefore 50p. If you win on a pair, this has a win of 1:1, so your win amount is 1.00 (raise bet return + win 1:1) and you get your ante back + 1:1 (50p), so your total win is 1.50.

Payouts

The payouts in this game are based on the normal poker hands. The win amounts are:

  • Royal Flush 100:1

  • Straight Flush 50:1

  • Four-of-a-Kind 20:1

  • Full House 7:1

  • Flush 5:1

  • Straight 4:1

  • Three-of-a-Kind 3:1

  • Two Pairs 2:1

  • One Pair 1:1

  • High Card 1:1

Optimal Strategy

Caribbean Beach Poker is less strategy-based than classic poker, but players should still know when to change their cards, when to fold, and when to raise. Generally, it is best to raise if your hand shows a pair or better. It might be wise to fold if the dealer’s upturned card is an Ace or King and your highest card is lower (and you do not have a pair or better). If you have a pair or better, it might also be worth changing the remaining card/s. Keep in mind, however, that if you lose the hand, your overall loss will be higher.

If you’re playing for real money, it is always wise to be responsible. This means keeping bets low and stopping when the fun stops.

All game controls are self-explanatory and found mostly to the lower centre of the screen.

Design and Graphics

Like most Wazdan casino games, this game has a bright but minimalist look, with a large green casino table covering most of the screen. The table has a rounded wooden trim and is backed by red patterned wallpaper. Despite the game’s age, its timeless design helps it look up-to-date. The game’s logo is drawn in white at the centre of the table, complete with palm trees. The ‘ante’ and ‘raise’ betting areas are also written on the table in white. The game’s lounge jazz soundtrack sets a laid-back vibe and is characteristic of the beachside casinos found all along the coast of the Golden State.
