Introduction

Castles and knights have seen a bit of a surge in popularity in recent years, and Arrow’s Edge have taken advantage of that with Game of Kings. The simple 5-reel and 25 payline layout hides a complex free spins round with multipliers and expanding symbols, plus a potential bonus prize.

Theme, Graphics & Soundtrack

In a medieval castle, complete with stone columns and walls hung with pennants and tapestries, a fierce battle is underway. Kings both good and evil grace the reels in their contest for the throne, joined by witches, princes and a sweeping soundtrack. It’s a slot with bold yet charming graphics, using 3D detail to create a strong atmosphere. There may be war between the kings but this isn’t a world of blood and dirt. It’s a rich, glittering kingdom that anyone would want to rule. The obvious comparison is the Game of Thrones slot, inspired by the famous novels and show, also set in the dangerous world of medieval kings and their often less than secure holds on their power, though admittedly this version doesn’t have quite the same depth.

How to Play Game of Kings

If you want a shot at the throne, here’s what you do:

1. First, you need to set yourself some limits. That means a budget with a loss and single win limit to make sure your game finishes at a good moment rather than chasing losses. You may also want to keep an eye on session length.

3. Next to this button are two adjustors. One is for paylines, one is for total bet. Use the arrows to either raise or lower them depending on your budget, goals and preferences.
4. Alternately, if you’re sure you’re willing to take the biggest risk for the biggest reward, just click 'max bet, which is over on the other side of the spin button.
5. As you move towards the right of the screen, you’ll see your total win and balance both displayed, allowing you to keep on track budget-wise.
6. The last button on this row is the gear that represents settings, where you’ll find toggles for Music and FX, a sliding meter to adjust the volume and the option to switch between normal and fast mode.
7. Back to the centre and it’s time to choose. Do you want to spin once then consider whether to stop or adjust your settings? Press the big button right in the middle. Do you want to leave the reels spinning again and again while you go off and do something else? Use the little play button next to it for autoplay, though bear in mind you can’t include your win and loss limits.

This slot looks quite simple at first, though not without its charms, especially with its excellent graphics and soundtrack. There’s nothing confusing in the base game. Then you get to the 2 bonus rounds, the free spins and the bonus prize, both of which add depth to both the theme and your possible prizes. It can get very exciting if you’re lucky enough to trigger those features.
