Board games are quite popular themes for online slots games. However, we have noticed that Monopoly seems to have a – well, a monopoly on this market. So, we thought we would put together a list of our favourite non-Monopoly board game online slots.
Jenga
Jenga is a very creative online slots game that does a great job of recreating the original game. The online slots title does not feature any reels or paylines; instead, it is a Jenga tower that is made up of different-coloured blocks. Every time you hit the ‘spin’ button, a new Jenga tower is formed. Linked coloured blocks offer generous payouts, and they are removed from the tower.
There are also bombs that remove entire layers, and bonus blocks that help boost winning potential. If the tower topples, then the player receives free spins.
Battleship
The Battleship board game slots title from IGT, is quite a straight-forward game with a basic format. It is still quite a fun slots title, as the bonus game is very similar to the original board game.
There are five battleships in the water, and you are given three missiles to shoot them down. Select three ships to shoot and they will reveal various free spins or additional missiles.
Cluedo
Cluedo is an online slots game IGT, based on the classic whodunit board game. This title features characters and motifs from the original game, such as Miss Scarlet, Professor Peacock, the candlestick, the noose and the hammer. There is a free spins round, in which players can earn up to 15 free spins. During this round, all wins are multiplied by three and there is the potential to trigger a 6x multiplier.
While the free spins game is quite generous, we think IGT missed an opportunity to include an off-screen bonus. There could have been a great mystery bonus in which players solve the crime in a similar fashion to the original board game.
Candyland
Candyland is a very delicious-looking online slots game from 1x2 Gaming. The game features a vibrant theme with all sorts of tasty treats like candy canes, cola bottles and gummy bears.
What we like most about this game is how easy it is to trigger the bonus game, because all you need is one liquorice symbol to appear anywhere on the reels. You can win anywhere between 5 and 25 free spins.
So, while we would have liked to see an off-screen bonus somewhere, we’re quite happy with the easy-to-access free spins game.
