This week, Williams Interactive (WMS) released a new online slots game called Nemo’s Voyage. Upon first glance, it looks like just about any other slot machine – but, there is more to it than that.
So, Slots Temple has decided to delve into the depths of Nemo’s Voyage, exploring its gameplay, bonuses and overall design.
Before you play the game, you should get to know Captain Nemo. He is a fictional character, created in the mind of novelist Jules Verne. He appears in two novels: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870) and The Mysterious Island (1874). On his exciting underwater adventures, he travels in his ship called the Nautilus.
Both Nemo and his ship have been immortalised in various films and television shows. He has been portrayed by Patrick Stewart the 2005 Mysterious Island film and by Michael Caine in the 1997 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea miniseries.
When Nemo’s Voyage first loads, it doesn’t seem like there is much to it. It may look like a standard online slots game – but it is one of the more feature-rich titles out there.
The overall look of the game is quite imaginative, with a retro nautical appearance and underwater creatures as symbols – such as giant squids, hammerhead sharks, blue whales and angler fish. Harpoons, maps and appears are also symbols in this game.
Pressure and Depth
Nemo’s Voyage starts to get interesting as the depth and pressure gauges begin to move. With every spin, the ship dives deeper. This is measures on the depth metre, which features four types of wilds: Multiplier Wilds: wild symbols that also offer up generous multipliers.
Pressurised Wilds: wild symbols that expand downwards
Clumped Wilds: wilds that appear in groups
Wild Reels: wild symbols that occupy entire reels
The great thing about these features is that they are easy to trigger. You would normally expected the gauge to increase only when wins occur, but it simply does so with every spin. As such, players can expect to trigger these various wilds often.
The pressure gauge increases as when a special Increase Pressure symbol appears. When the pressure gauge is maxed out, then the ship begins to ascend, and the player can trigger the bonus features in the reverse order.
The free spins game is triggered when three bonus symbols appear on the reels. During this round, the Giant Squid slaps extra wilds on the reels. These are called ‘Persistent Wilds’, as they remain in place on the reels for the entire bonus round – offering up fantastic winning potential.
The new Nemo’s Voyage online slots game from WMS is a great start to the new year. With feature-rich gameplay and generous winning potential, we hope that this title will set the standard for online slots in 2015.
