IGT’s Transformer Slots
International Game Technology is known for being an innovative online slots developer, always picking up on the latest trends in the gaming world. So, it would make sense that IGT often works with popular toy designer Hasbro, as the two companies are visionaries in their respective fields.
This week, IGT and Hasbro have come together to create a new online slots game called Transformers: Battle For Cybertron.
It is the second Transformers-based slots game from IGT, and it expands on the gameplay introduced by Transformers: Ultimate Payback.
Ultimate Payback
Transformers: Ultimate Payback was released in 2009 (by Wager Works, which is now owned by IGT), and it was well-received in the slots gaming industry.
It features quite a retro design, which resembles the graphics in the original Transformers anime from the 1980s. As such, it certainly inspires nostalgia in players, and is one of the reasons why the game has been so popular over the years.
With 25 paylines, Ultimate Payback offers players plenty of chances to hit winning combinations. Players can wager up to 5 credits per payline, which makes it a great game for both high rollers and casual players.
The base game features expanding wilds on reels 2 and 4, and players can trigger a generous free spins game if they are lucky enough.
Battle for Cybertron
You will certainly notice that the design of Battle for Cybertron is vastly different from Ultimate Payback. This game features very modern graphics, which are similar to some of the more recent cartoons that have been based on the series.
As such, we will likely see younger players wanting to wager on this game, while older players (who were fans of the original series) will stick with Ultimate Payback.
Battle for Cybertron is a 40-payline slots games, so there are plenty more chances to win. However, this means that players have to spend more money in order to trigger a maximum bet, which may not be doable for casual gamers.
The game also includes many bonus features, such as Free Fall symbols. Whenever a winning combination is made, the winning symbols disappear and new symbols all into their places, creating the potential for multiple wins.
IGT’s new Battle for Cybertron slots also offers up five Mystery Bonuses, which can be triggered after any spin. The Optimus Prime feature will destroy all Decepticon symbols while the Megatron feature destroys all Autobot symbols. The Grimlock and Shockwave bonuses burn away several symbols to reveal new symbols and possibly trigger new winning combos. The Rachet feature triggers the free spins game.
Which Game Reigns?
While we are partial to Battle for Cybertron, both games are appealing. Ultimate Payback will appeal to more classic slots players while Battle for Cybertron is a game that more modern players will enjoy.
Regardless of your tastes, it is a good idea to give them both a spin to decide which of IGT’s Transformer slots games you prefer.
