NetEnt, giants of the gaming world and producers of video slots such as Planet of the Apes, Jumanji and Guns ‘n’ Roses, have announced that they have signed a deal with Gaumont films to produce a Narcos themed slot game.
Gaumont are the oldest film company in the world, formed in 1895, with offices worldwide. They are the producers behind the smash hit TV show, Narcos, which has enjoyed phenomenal success on the world’s leading streaming platform, Netflix. Narcos is currently in production for season 4 - the previous 3 seasons having enjoyed an almost overnight, cult following. It fast became the number one streamed show on Netflix, which is available in a massive 130 countries across the globe.
Taking into account the scale of popularity of the Narcos TV show, the contract with Gaumont is huge for NetEnt. For those who have been living under a rock for the last few years, here is a quick synopsis of the show…
Narcos TV Show
Based in Colombia in the 1980s, Narcos follows the crazy, high-octane life of the infamous drug lord, Pablo Escobar. The first episode aired on 28th August 2015. The plot portrays the rise of the cocaine trade across Colombia and the many kingpins involved in this violent, rapacious underworld. Not only is it full of action, suspense, criminal events and thrilling police raids, but Narcos’ added excitement is the fact that it is based on actual events.
Starring Pedro Pascal and Wagner Moura, the TV series was nominated for an impressive list of accolades over seasons 1 - 3, including awards from the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Hollywood Music in Media Awards and People’s Choice Awards.
Narcos’ fan base just keeps getting bigger all around the world, with season 3 premiering on Netflix as the most in-demand digital original series in the U.S. and one of the top five globally.
Season 4 of Narcos is currently in production and is due to hit Netflix on 16th November 2018. As with many Netflix series, the full Narcos season 4 will be available at once - all episodes, there to be binge-watched immediately.
Narcos by NetEnt Slots
NetEnt was started in Sweden in 1996. This digital entertainment company has gone from strength to strength and has been a pioneer in the digital gaming world, largely due to its well-produced and entertaining games, as well as its technologically advanced platform.
The NetEnt slots game is due to be released either at the end of December 2018 or the beginning of January 2019. While there are no details released online as yet to give away any details or features of the upcoming slot, it is always possible to speculate.
Narcos Slots - What to Expect
Going by recent games that NetEnt Slots have released, we can surmise that Narcos Slots may well have an RTP (Return to Player) of around 96% as they usually do.
It would be wise to assume that Narcos Slot will probably feature a maximum single spin win in excess of 1,000 times your stake. Bet sizes are likely to range between 20p and £100, which can be amended by clicking on the current bet amount, and then players are faced with a second screen showing the available betting range.
If the Narcos game is to be anything like the recent NetEnt slots, an Auto Play feature will allow players the chance to set their chosen number of spins to be played, with a range of options showing when the run should stop. The game will presumably be in HTML5 format and be accessible for play on desktop, mobile and tablets.
NetEnt have done a fantastic job previously with other pop culture brands, re-imagining them so they are suitable for the slot reels, while maintaining the authentic feel of the original. Since the Narcos TV show is so full of thrilling action and suspense, we are sure that NetEnt’s slots version will be able to hold on to these entertaining qualities, and deliver a fantastically exciting slot game, with the right amount of atmosphere and drama.
But of course, this is all just conjecture - keep an eye out online to catch the first leaked details of this much anticipated video slots game! We know we will.
